My corp looks like it's about to engage in faction warfare, and I'm mostly an industrial player. I'm wondering what the negative effects, if any, are for faction warfare. If I don't participate in combat, will my standings with the opposing faction still get killed?

I'd like to not be negatively affected in either trade or travel, or any other capacity in the future. Is there anything to be concerned about with regards to having negative standing with a faction, through warfare or just by raising rep with a different faction through storylines?

If you do not kill NPC's you will not lose faction standings.

While you are a member of a militia corp, you will be attacked by the opposing Navies within there space. You can also be attacked by opposing militia's anywhere, including within friendly high sec space. Once you leave the militia corp those rules of engagement would no longer apply.

Thank you. From what I understand, at -5 I will get attacked in Gallente space regardless of whether I'm in faction warfare or not. Is trade affected, and how difficult would it be to train back up Gallente standing when I'm currently at around -1.8?

The effect on trade is an increase in broker fees in stations owned by Gallente corps.

You can grind missions to rebuild your standings. Training Diplomacy is also helpful.
