Just curious, are there any plans to support antialiasing within the EvE client? For some reason trying to force it with 3rd party apps doesn't work with my 8800gtx.

It seems like a fairly basic feature to me, is there some technical reason it hasn't been done already?

I realise this has probably already been discussed a million times already, but I just cant face another struggle with the forum search feature, I just cant do it...

AA works with eve just not alongside hdr.

I seem to remember, not long after Trinity came out, that someone posted a link to a program that forced HDR and AA on in Eve. Well, it wasnt specifically designed for Eve but did work.

Sorry Im completly useless in that I completly forget what the program was called.

nHancer will let you force aa + hdr in eve. Works for some and ctd or performs badly for others.

works for me without ctd and poor performance!

download the latest nhancer, click on eve profile, there will be a compatibility tab, dont choose one, enter 0xf0000045 in the field instead, otherwise you will have "flashing white boxes" while cloaked.

this works on my machine absolutely stable, hdr on full + AA / AF x8... Very Happy

i too use nhancer for my 8800gt.

It works well, even in windowed mode, though for some reason i have to use the 'combined' supersampling+multisampling modes to have any great effect on the jaggies. I use 8xS mode under the 'combined' group, which gives me 1x2 supersampling AA combined with 4x multisampling AA.

8x MSAA still looks fairly **** to me for some reason. I guess EvE hard lines on ships etc make the jaggies particularly noticeable.

With ATI you can use HDR+AA without using thirdparty apps, just enable HDR in client and AA in the drivers.

I tried nHancer around 6 months ago and it didn't do a thing, the game looked exactly the same with or without it.

Are there any other apps to try or is nHancer the only one for nvidia cards?

I've got ATI, and don't get AA with HDR. Then again, I sometimes have to set and reset AA sometimes to get it in EVE anyway, so maybe some horsing around whilst in HDR will do the trick as well...

At least my game crashes quickly when enabling AA under Vista64.

Edit: I bug reported this recently and got the same answer. So while that post is old, AA still doesn't seem to be supported.

You need to set compatibility mode to Oblivion and then it will work. You then need to set a high AA.

The only reason Nhancer wouldn't work would be user error. Though if you post more info someone should be able to help you.
