...it would be legal to murder pop-up add makers, script kiddies and hackers in general?

I'd even go back on my no-knife policy and make them suffer real bad and then put the pictures on the net.

Most browsers other than IE has built in popup killers.. I wonder why MS never made one themselves.. and tabbed is also good..

I'd settle for garroting them all with some piano wire. Oh, and might as well throw all the spammers in there too while were at it.

The people I'd violently murder are the 1 in 100,000,000,000 people that actually respond to spam, pop-up/under and javascript adverts, thereby making them worth putting up for the advertisers.

I'm tempted to boycott any company that uses such tactics but i fear I'd end up starving to death due to the fact I'd be boycotting everyone, from computer manufacturers to food retailers.

LOL, it's my job to manage those pop-ups ads, and all other advertising on some rather well known websites. Needless to say I have a pop-up blocker, Google's is good for IE.

/me runs and hides.

It's SP2 that has the built in pop-up blocker and it is VERY good.

Worst thing is for us people who are too lazy to something else than IE, when we get a popup and press OK on accident and get all that **** and **** downloaded onto our computer and we cant get rid of it, that sucks.

Happened to me once.

Aaaah, I love the smell of gutted script kiddie in the morning, it turns out I have a search engine hijack, which interferes with most every site besides EVE.

How do I go about killing it? Adaware isn't doing the job, neither is Norton, just had another clean-up program pack it in and take a siesta on me.

Well, go ahead and start with these: CW Shredder

Hijack this

In that same category on that website are some other tools also that you can take a look at. Here is a direct link for it: major geeks

EDIT: oh yeah forgot to add, if you must insist on using IE for browser, i can suggest you take a look at MYIE2. Or actually it's called maxthon now, i use firefox personally, but the MyIE2 is very good based on what ive heard. just like internet explorer but much better when it comes to security. it's alternative to having to DL all the updates for reg IE. I simply can't shake the hijack, some DSO Exploit thing keeps working itself onto my computer every time I log on, I clean it out and there it is again...

With the increased hassle of hijackers, spammers and other in your face morons computers are less and less the future.

If that's the one that keeps appearing on Spybot - Search & Destroy, I think it's nothing to worry about. IIRC it appears in the list but doesn't actually mean anything significant.

I had it, got rid of IE and installed Firefox :)
Did do a few things to remove it though.
Disable system restore, use CWS shredder and hijack this then to get rid of it, then restart in safe mode, and look through the registry (some sites say where) and look if its left anything behind, then uninstall Nortan, and install antivir :)

Opera kicks ass. And getting ad aware and programs like that is always handy just in case.

I know how you feel. The effort you have to go to keep your machine clean.

I actually smacked a 'school mate' in the nose years ago for giving me a virus on purpose.

Not that I condone violence, but it felt good!
