This showed up a few days ago. If you look at the odd discoloration around the amount and the name, it might make you suspicious. It did me. So I checked out Entity's contract history, and this contract does not show.

TL;DR - Hoax.

This is quite interesting. If you do a search on finished contracts issued by doya lickalotapum this does indeed show up as Entity as the purchaser. Upon clicking the purchasers name you are brought to a show info box which contains Entity's info. However a search of finished contracts to Entity does not show this contract. Confused

I think the guy did it with a different name and some how got a name change, is why it won't show on Entity's list.

With a name like lickalotapum, I am sure is was changed probably without having to ask Laughing

Unlucky Entity.

It's not like it wouldn't just be a small thorn in his side though with the amount of cash/assets he has. Judgement error? Alcohol induced error, who knows but i'm sure he will get through it just fine

That is just an irritating feature of Eve. I use contract history quite extensively but but when looking at another character, if it goes over about a page and a half of old contracts, only the older ones are displayed and the more recent months contracts cannot be viewed.

I'm not sure whether it's meant to be a feature but I wish CCP would fix it.

Yep the contract logging system has a couple of hardcore bugs in it. I am dealing with CCP on a very concerning issue now. Once results are forthcoming I will let people know to be aware of it (ofc without posting conversation data etc)

My puppy wore one similar after she got fixed, but it was shallower and didnt affect her as much as the one on that cat would.

Poor entity. Sad

Also, I can already see the million similar scams that will start popping up in Jita.

He was drunk.

I heard that someone reimbursed his loss, not sure why since he has all the isk in the world...

Seen a few similar scams on contracts lately.

That's.....surprising, to say the least.

I'd think a situation like this would be the average scammer's wet dream.

Ya think?

However the likeliest answer is that Entity won an auction for the t2 bpo. The issuer was in a situation of either hand back the isk or get the isk taken back and possibly receiving a ban. From the forums at the least. The forum ban would, again most likely, be more painful for the main then for this obvious alt.

Why receive a ban? CCP got tired of sorting out scams from nonscams, and changed the forum rules back about a year and a half ago (maybe two?). You can scam all you like on the forums as well as ingame, without being banned (only exception is GTCs and character sales).
Unless I misunderstand the forum you're talking about?

Highly unlikely. It's so unlikely that I can tell you it wasn't how it happened.

Short version: His alt got too chatty, so I matched his writing style to his main (one of the reasons why I keep all logs ;). I then contacted his CEO, who helped recover the money.

If I spent 16bil, I would look at it VERY closely before I click the button :D

I can say after making numerous market orders, that I never made a mistake.

But good you got your money back :)... And peeps, this also happens on the normal market, so watch out.

For someone who probably has more money run through him in a week than you will ever see in Eve, mistakes are bound to happen from time to time Smile

I have double processed a few peoples EBANK withdrawals in the past, these things happen Smile
