Hi All, A quick question. My corp wants to put up a medium tower in high sec. what race tower should we use and why? We are in Caldari space. But unsure of defence on Caldari towers. Considering the billions we will have tied up in research in this POS. Faction towers are not out of the question. Thanks for your time. Rip

Find the closest ice belt that you plan to harvest from regularly and put up the type of tower that belt provides the most fuel for. If you're going to buy the fuel then you have money to burn and can just put up whatever tower you want.

1. What do you imagine the tower will do with proper defenses?
2. How much can your corp contribute to the defense of the POS?
3. Do you have POS gunners?
4. How many labs do you need to run on it?
5. Do you have enough active players to time stront for #2-3?

Generally Artillery/Autocannons are the defense of choice, Domination towers are therefor ideal. But Caldari have more CPU for labs, you would still use artillery/autocannons for defense (on any tower but amarr)

Yeah thx Kiki for your advice. We dont have a lot of plp in corp just 4 friends playing since 03. So your saying a Caldari tower with howies and A/C is more than enough for defence? How about missles? Are POS missles affected by the missle nerf also? 3 corp hanger array's, 3 research labs and maybe a ship maint. array. Sorry for the text im using my cell phone since im away for the holidays. Thx, Rip

Dude, the only reason to have a high sec pos is to run research on. I'm not going to link this for you since you were too lazy to search for it initially, but cryptically hidden within the resevior of human knowledge (the internet) is the information you seek. What super secret search terms should you use to find it? Cleverly it is hidden under the phrase "high sec pos guide".

Put one up, drop some turrets on it for show but in the long run if someone really wants to spend the immense amount of time and resources it will take to drop one without capital ships then let them, you come out ahead on the cheaper option of just putting another one up. You can also just go take it down if you do get war dec'd. The short sweet answer is to just take the tower that is most convenient and runs on the fuel that is most easily attainable by you.

One more thing. The only thing you need to drop on your station is research labs. You are not going to have any need for any of the other arrays other than a hangar array maybe. Everything else is a waste of time space and money since you are in high sec where better facilities are readily available.
