Microsoft C++ Runtime library R6025

This causes Eve to crash.

It seems to happen when docking up after flying around a some time.

I've had 6 crashes to desktop tonight (haven't had one in ages before this patch)

Anyone else notice a dramatic increase in crash frequency since QR 1.0.3?

(edit should have made clear - I've only seen the runtime error twice out of the six crashes, other errors have been similar to what Kralz is seeing in another thread

(ps Its been bug reported - ID No 67045)

I have had this same crash message. It happened right after I logged in and tried to join audio chat. I had 2 accounts up and running and both accounts where sitting in station.

I installed the patch tonight & have crashed 3 times in as many hours. Previous to this no problems.

Yup, I'm seeing the same error and getting crashes to desktop. Running on XP.

Edit: Not always seeing the runtime error message, but crashes are regularly occurring when jumping through a gate or undocking.

Windows task manager shows that after playing for less then an hour with 2 clients all of the physical memory of my PC is used up Shocked(2GB). This leads to terrible delays due to OS accessing HD to compensate for the missing RAM and crash of EVE client(s). After exiting EVE memory normalises but with nasty side effects leftover. Like missing wallpaper on windows desktop.

Same here: C++ Runtime library error and EVE constantly using more RAM until it crashes around 1.6 Gb.

I'm having the same issue here. Running two clients one or both will crash or hang. Sometimes I get a socket closed message but most times just a black screen when undocking or using a jump gate. The black screen either goes away on it's own (after up to 5 minutes) or I have to ctrl-alt-del and end task on that Eve process then wait a few minutes to restart. This seems to be happening about every 10 to 15 minutes. I notice there is a "Revert Patch" in the Mac forums. Will that revert back to the previous client for the other operating systems as well (I had no problems at all prior to patching)?

Vista 32
Quad core
4 Gb RAM

Thank you,

Sitting here in game doing nothing I saw the Physical memory usage at 1.2 Gb. I docked, undocked, and flew from station to station docking and undocking. Each time I dock and undock the memory usage goes up. I redocked at the station I normally base out of and have been sitting there for 10 minutes or so. The physical memory has been stable since docking at 2.04 Gb but if I undock I'm sure that will go up again. Looks like it's not releasing something in memory during the dock and undock process. I know, easy to see the results but hard to find the problem (I program as well).

I usually have 3 clients open at the same time without problems, since 1.03 my 2 clients feel like 20 clients open, sounds like eve wants to kill my HD...

I had a couple of crashes to desktop after undocking, docking, jumping, graphics not loaded correctly (i.e. station wasnt there, just the lights, in station docking ramp wasnt visible, background looked like an old VGA graphics game)

My sytem is AMD X2 4600+, 2 GB Ram, 8800 GTS 640Mb
System was setup new 3 weeks ago, so all drivers are up to date and everything works fine...(except EVELaughing)

Same here.. haven't seen a crash for a long time, but now crashing, many times with two clients running.

Dell XPS410
Windows XP
GeForce 8800 video
4Gb (3 seen) RAM

I haven't noticed any errors being displayed.

Very HappyVery Happy
I have the same problem. After patching I got 6 crash till now. Before the patch I can run 3 eve on my computer in same time.

But I noticed something. When I opened Eve, VM size is around 1 GB per eve. And they eates my memory as well till end of available free memory. And after that if jumped to another system , docked or undocked one of the the client crashed.

My system is AMD X2 4600+, 2 GB Ram, Two 8800 GT 512Mb in SLI mode working on WinXP.

Very HappyI want to thank for that great performance patch to CCP.

See updates here.

This should address the crash issue as well.

Posted - 2008.12.12 18:21:00 - [19]

I was able to duplicate the bug by going in and out of a station while watching my memory use increase. Submitted a bug report (67116) along with dxdiag files and a logserver file running from start to client crash. Hope this helps and feel free to contact me if you need help testing anything or additional information. If you don't have access to my email contact via CCP I will monitor this thread periodically.

Thanks CCP Atlas, running in windowed mode as suggested seems to work and also explains why running two clients and alt tabbing was causing such an issue. I do hope they are able to patch full screen mode as I much prefer that to windowed mode. EveMon option to make Eve fit the screen does help a little and makes windowed mode look much like full screen though so it's not all bad. Thanks again Cool

Yeh, my clients are bloating up to around 1.7GB of ram and then crashing.
Multiple crashes all day long, no issues with v1.02 client.
Please fix.

I have exactly the same prob. Single client running XP. Tried windowed mode and disabled premium graphics, but still the same. Glued to task manager as it creeps up to the crash threshold....Sad
