Please just read this over before you post, i did allot of thinking on this and it could be a good idea ^.^

First off my idea is about a New skill and Mod. Skill is called "Advance Artificial Intelligence" The Mod is called "AI-CU I(AI control Unit I) required skills AAI 3, Tech 2 of the mods require level 5 and the T2 mod doesn't take as much CPU and power grid (T1 takes 75% CPU and 50% power grid to equip where the T2 only takes 60% CPU and 35% power grid)

This is new technology, Thus limiting it to Frigate side ship. The ships controlled by this unit only has the ship bonuses for its mining yield and 5% bonus to Shield,Armor hull and Mining yield Per level of AAI(Advance Artificial Intelligence)

This isn't a way to make it essayer to mine, frankly my idea is just to have some slaves do a bit of mining for you while your not there, ofcorse the skill book and the mod will cost well into the hundred millions. Making them nearly useless really but still can be used to passively mine a area while your for say off line or just to bring in a small extra amount of ore.

The AI-CU can launch drones to protect it self from ermines that attack the ship but that is all as far as protection gos, it can not use anything other then Mining lasers and drones. It can be programed to mine a single belt or mine at certain times, what ever you program it to do, the program interface consists of simple drop down windows and mutiable Script lines (T1 AI-CU can only have 5 lines making it limited on what it can do and the T2 AI-CU can use 7 lines making it where you can make it a little more efficient in some ways.)

Love to hear some Feed back on this or feel free to suggest some improvements to this idea.

No.

Sorry - but this is a terrible idea.

You are supposed to play the game. If you are not willing to invest some effort then you don't get stuff either.

Plus - we really don't need to make life easier for macro-miners.

Wouldn't be makeing it easyer for the macro miners, franly the ammount of ore that it would be bringing in would be very low, how about the AI-CU would also take up a bit of the ships cargo hold making it where the ships won't be mining very much at all and won't be able to hold much ore either? come on i know the tech eve has its possable what about makeing it a few bil just to buy the Skill book and 5 Bil for the AI-CU or maybe have it where you have to play to run it in space and what not....

Also you are limited to 2 ships, 1 at level 3 and 1 at level 5.

Then what would the point be? Why would someone invest that much for so little gain? You can use mining drones and achieve essentially the same results for nowhere near the time and isk investment.

so basicly you want to add a very expensive way to turn a hulk in to a pos carrier?

The only way i see this working is if you were to turn them into combat frigs and only allow ships with a hanger to use them, basicly just give caps a frig or two... oh wait, those are called drones...

honestly its not a bad idea, its just pointless

No.... Its limited to Frigates if you would read that is. And the reason is just to bring in a little extra ore in when you mine, not drone but ships that have there own cargo hold that will drop it off at the station and mine till destoryed or told not to,As i said its a experimental tech not something that is gonna be very useful but would be nice to see 2 small frig mining with me and bringing in a little extra ore in while I'm sleeping or what not.

This really makes no sense.. why would a brand new technology only work with frigates.. i would think you'd need the advanced systems of a Battleship/Battlecruiser class vessel to test any new technology properly. All Technology works its way down from large to small, not the other way around. Also i think this idea is stupid, you can already just toss a hauler out out a big roid and leave for a while, we don't need to jump the shark and put another auto-targeter system into the game... i.e. a piece of crap almost no one will use.

Alot less Effective tho then a player as it doesn't get any other mining bonus but from the skill and the ship. Also alot less cargo space.

Reason its a frigate because of the size of the ship, when piloting a ship your characters Nav skills are into ply, your characters brains are as well, with the computer the smaller the ship the less it has to do to monitor the ships and what not, a battleship is just over kill and also in terms require a crew. I read someone that even tho we are the captains of the ships we still have crews. So there for you'd probably have to use more then one AI-CU to man a battleship. Thus taking up alot of CPU and power.
(Like i said, its experimental, and not planed to go into larger ships, just unmanned scout ships that move around and can scout muti systems, unlike probes.)

No i would have to say that it is limited to one player per account.

-shrugs- i kinda though it would be cool to have a dummy ship mine for me while i mine but meh, its a failual idea i guess...

and i can't belive you was dumb enought to post as well.

I'm sorry, I know I shouldn't make fun of people's spelling, especially in an international forum, but it was the defending against small furry animals (ermines) that had me laughing - just couldn't help it. Now to try and be serious.

EVE isn't X3. Much as it would be fun to have scripted assistants for transports etc., the game is aimed at cooperation between players. That really says it all for me.

Think of the extra moments of your life you wasted actually posting then, and be consoled that I wasted time reading your post.

Not true.

This post however is lame, what you are asking for is a way to gain the benefits of operating in a group without actually doing so.
