Putting this inspirational guide up on the first page where it belongs. No, a link to this guide inside of a resources thread that nobody ever reads is not good enough.

Dear C&P: You're welcome, there is now something on the first page worth reading.

Piracy costs isk. The more time I have to spend grinding isk, the less time I have to work on updating and completing this guide.

HELP KEEP THE GUIDE ALIVE!

Donate isk to Skira Ranos Very Happy

Excerpts from the Preface:

Piracy is the most fun you can have in EVE in my opinion, and something many new players seem attracted to. I myself played many long hours of mind numbing mission running before I attempted my first PvP combat. I died quickly, and could not find any guides that provided the information I needed to survive. So I set about learning to pirate properly all by myself, armed with nothing but a stack of T1 frigates and a desire to yar.

Now, many years and four corporations latter, I am finally confident enough to pass my knowledge on.

This guide is intended to thoroughly fill you in on the basics you need to pirate, and get you up and running with the minimum of hassle. Provided in this first draft is everything you need to know to get out and yar, including settings for your UI, scanning skills, basic tactics, advice, and fittings and tactics for T1 frigates (and before you ask, YES they are effective pirate ships, even solo, and NO you don't need high skill points! Trust me!)

put this p- where he really belongs.. why is a thread about 'Crime and Punishment' giving free reign to pirates... sure, defend the individual case, but leave the general piracy thread to where it should be.. under 'Piracy'... '... a cheap and easy way to earn isk in hi sec.'... EMPHASIS on CHEAP and EASY.

If that encourages players to take the cheap and easy route, then so be it!!!

That would require Gibberish to be trained to Level 5, so, maybe.

This guide is the true Carebear-ageddon (Sorry, I had to!). Not because it helps you kill cute fuzzy animals, but because it has the capability to turn them into vicious beasts of war. Back up to the top, so that C&P has something worth reading on the front page.

I do agree that this guide is deserving of its own sticky.

Perhaps stickying it as a general "How now to be ******ed at combat and playing in general" guide.

Either way it DOES warrant a place on page 1.
Near the top.

As long as this pirate holds breath, then this will never drop to the 2nd page.

But I can only hold my breath for about 5 minutes, so after that its someone elses's problem.

Confirming that the previous poster's "Hold Your Breath for Six Minutes" program works.

Works even better than "6 Minute Abs" works.

Also, please independently sticky this guide.
Pretty please.

I think that the next version of this guide should include a section on "Popular Pirate Drinks" and the joys of flying while intoxicated.

It would also be interesting to have a few pages about notable historical pirates as an introduction, to give the guide some more flavor, and to give new pirates some inspirational role models. I heard that Skira is something of a pirate historian, is that true?

Is the only reason this hasn't been independently stickied because it has "Pirate" in the title?

It reads as a "How not to Suck Out Loud at EVE" guide.

Literally. Please sticky this.

Skira, you should include this ship chart in your guide. It would be of great value for any pirate that is still new to the game in deciding what to fight, and what to avoid.
