Can you confirm that cap transfer modules are, by omission from the above line definately allowed, as peeps tend to lump them in with shield & armour transferring in their mind.

9 ishtars with sentries = unstoppable. I guess you have removed remote reps for make the fights more entertaining, makes it kind of limited though!!!!

And before anyone says my geddons will eat them, youd be looking at a target ab'ing about while using 18 tracking distruptors.

Addendum: To those thinking that remote reps were disallowed because they are 'overpowered' - have you considered the simple reasoning of disallowing them just to make the tournament different from past ones? Giving it a new, exciting format that's hard to predict and enjoyable to watch?

How will it be different? We'll see a few setups that quickly will be regarded as the best way to go and everyone will be using those setups. And in terms of predictability and enjoyment - 9 Ishtars with sentries...

21 - Battleship, Faction
19 - Battleship, Tech 1 & 2

Hmm are you sure you want a marauder to cost as many points as a T1 bs ?
That pretty much removes the point of bringing any T1 BS to the field.
Yes.. they are more easy to jam, but they have the tank from hell.

Also with regards to this, pricing Faction ships higher than T2 battelships,
is a bit questionable to me.

Good call on resuming the tourney.

Quick question though. You say in the "we need experts" thread that people chosen will be on air from their own places the first two weekends, or something along those lines? I take it then that the matches will still be broadcast, then? With audio commentary from the sounds of it, or what's the deal there?

Wish I could put my name in the hat to help out, but I just started working... not to mention QR's messed up my innate pewpew mojo Razz.

that was clearly not thought thru for too long ...

people will quickly adapt to the next best thing that will promise them superior surviveability while providing adequate to good dps

there is gona be 2 an epic battle between gallente (sentrys and other drones) and amarr (cap warfare and medium wep power/tracking superiority)

so instead of extreme tanking matches we get long range plain tanking matches

wooo hooo ....

Do you really expect smaller alliances to field multiple t2 rigs for all the fights? were you thinking at all?

Just raise the number for logistics; don't nerf remote reps. Remote reps is what a high majority of fleet skill is based off of. If you want to nerf the dual logistics gangs, all you need to do is make them lack DPS completely. Otherwise it's just skillpoints wars.

couple more questions.

are named drones allowed?

Marauders being the same price as tier 1 BS is a weird choice.

T2 rigs should be disallowed for basically the same reason pirate implants are. They are prohibitively expensive for smaller groups.

Loving the new rules.

I think the banning of logistics mods is a good move. The remote tanks last time out were a bit ridiculous at times. Hopefully we'll see some kind of balance between gank and tank tho, since if everyone just runs buffer and damage it'll be very samey.

I hope it won't be all ECM dominated again too, just because luck isn't fun to watch.

I have to ask again why are boosters not allowed?

You have taken them off the black market although many people are still buying them off the black market in the billions. All of the major alliances in the game will freely admit they use boosters on fleet ops in capital ships and even nano gangs. They have become widely used which you wanted. Yet when it comes time to show them off as the combat upper that you want people to do you always say NO.

Now once again in the intro to the alliance tourney you are once again saying these wonderful additions to combat, which the alliance tournament is supposed to somewhat resemble. I have heard your arguments that we could have 20 people take the drugs and chose the people without the side effects but that can be easily mitigated by using your super dev powers to remove the drugs effects when you scan us for illegal moduals.

Here is a simple idea that can easily be implemented to allow combat boosters in the tourney. Pilots can bring boosters to the tourney but may only consume them when they make it to the arena. I don't know how hard that would be, but I think it is an easy solution People would suffer side effects and others would not.

45-200m?

How is that any different from having T2/faction battleships being allowed?

I think marauders should be grouped with faction ships and black ops with t1 battleships for point costs.

Heavy Interdictors seem expensive for no reason.

Sentry drones and ECM could *potentially* make some boring fights.

Everything else looks great.

no one is going to use marauders anyway so their point amount doesn't matter.

5. T2 ammunition and missiles are allowed. Faction ammunition is allowed.

Are faction missiles allowed? Or just ammunition?

Also, please please PLEASE add a new rule.

"Only 1 ship of each Hull allowed per team"

Example, A team could field say a Myrmidon/Ishtar/Dominx, But could NOT field Brutix and an Astarte, Could NOT field a Falcon, and a Rook, could NOT field a Raven AND a CNR. Could NOT field 2x Armageddons etc...

10x <Exact same ship/setup> vs 10x <Exact same ship/setup> are stupidly boring fights that lack any creativity what-so-ever.

Surely you mean that these mods are only available on logistics ships. Otherwise why set the cost of logistics so high, whilst removing their primary purpose?

Agreed, massive identical fleets are somewhat tedious to watch, but the last tourney showed that people will be forced to adapt. There's enough restriction already.
Incidentally the word you are looking for is 'whatsoever' - please stop inventing punctuation.

um... why not only allow logtisics pilots to use them? Then increase thier cost of limit them to one per team. Thus spider tanking is impossible.

Or increase logtisics ships to 21-23 points.

Or decrease them to 10-9 points. That why people will use them for the logtisics drones. But why 12 points? I mean, I would just like to hear a reason for them being 12 point ships, instead of say 10. 10 would make more sense. They are having half thier bonuses removed, thus they are no different thana tech 1 cruiser with different bonuses and some extra resists.

edit: cap transfer is still allowed so nevermind my post :P
