I have a question about dreads say if an interceptor or other frigate class ships are attempting to take out a dread Would the dread be able to hit the frigs if they orbited withing 500-2000 meters of it

No. Definitely no. Especially an interceptor.

Actually, that's not true...a Moros with it's drones could rip that frigate or interceptor apart...almost instantly.

No, but the dread could tank you forever and the drones would take you out in a frig, the interceptor of course (until the next update) would also be near invincible. Every dread pilot with something in their mind would jump away asap, but on the other hand if you catch a dread without support ... The dread pilot would deserve to lose it.
Standard Dread Support Fleet would dust you in seconds...
