I believe its evident to all the thinking eve players that CCP have been lacking in making blockade runners completly invulnerable.

Yes, with the new addition of the cov ops cloak and the ability to warp cloaked, it will be impossible to kill them in low sec, and difficult to kill them in 0.0.

But there are still occasions where they might be caught. Perhaps a one in a million collision with a space pea in lowsec uncloaking it before it insta warps.

ITS CALLED A BLOCKADE RUNNER STUPIDS! ITS SUPPOSED TO RUN THE BLOCKADES NOT DIE TO THEM. OR ELSE IT WOULD BE CALLED A BLOCKADE DIESHIP OR SOMETHING.

As such I would like to propose Blockade runners be boosted with a mini dock wormhole device.

The idea is this:

ArrowPlayer is docked in jita.
ArrowPlayer buys cargo.
ArrowPlayer select pull down menu and chooses system and station he wishes to go to.
ArrowPlayer instantly is transported to said station
ArrowPlayer sells cargo for profit

Just call it Jovian something or other and people will accept the tech

Lets say this is done, what's makes your cargo worth more now? Anyone can now negate the risk of traviling to buy stuff, so the value of your cargo has been lowered, and now your only selling to the lazy that don't want to travel to Jita.

Since it pretty much is just bots and pirates in low sec. If you pirate the pirates... you kind of are a pirate.

Ya blockade runners are pretty much immune to being caught as it is. They then gave pirates hictors... which still rarely caught blockade runners.

Oh and Le Skunk...

When you have -10 sec status. You are a pirate; by definition.

That's the stupidest Idea I've ever heard...

I mean while I think they need to be buffed... but to give them such an ability is insane.

You wan't to help blockade runners? How about giving them more low slots and +2 War Stab bonus for every ship under "Transport Ship" class.

That or boosting cargo space.

Now your talking.

You'll need an Interdictor to stop those suckers.... and that means anyone serious about nailing those suckers would have to be serious with cash and effort.

THAT.. makes sense... not some damned harebrained idea of a "Wormhole"
Talk bout messing up balance.

PS: I happen to fly blockade runners.... they need a bit more love... not "godmode"

Its called a blockade RUNNER stupids. Not a blocakade DIEer.

What sense does it make to call this ship a blockade runner if its goging to die on the blockade.

It's called a Blockade runner because its designed to bust bloackades... not become freaking impossible to stop/catch/shoot/invunerable.

Might as well call the damn thing a CONCORD Frigate/cruiser or something at that rate.

Dont be silly. Its designed by CCP to be invulnerable in low sec - hene the addition of the Cov Ops Cloak usage.

If I wantted to be silly I'd call you Pepe La Pew.

CCP didn't design the blockade runner to be invulnerable... they designed it to have a higher "CHANCE" of surviving a gatecamp and breaking through blockades.

And In case you didn't know this... they call them... TRANSPORT SHIPS.
So obviously calling them a blockade runner is a bit of a misnomer.

Now if they are granting covert ops cloak... well I'd say that about makes it drastically harder to nail them... don't you?

Why make it any more insane?

I mean..... sheesh I can't believe im taking the side of a pirate here.

Blockade runner transports are the fastest type of industrial available. Utilizing sturdy but lightweight construction materials and sacrificing some cargo space, these haulers are able to reach speeds greater than those of a cruiser while withstanding heavy fire - factors which make them ideal for zipping through dangerous territories with valuable cargo.

i agree with skunk.

They also need to make the blockade runner have some effect that includes sparkles and hearts glittering off of it. When it does the wormhole thing it should look like a big pink shining heart that as the BR disappears turns into a blinding white light, kinda like 'Judgment'. So if your watching it you get that feeling like you've been shafted cause some1 pushed the I-win button.

I think blockade runners should have 100% resists to all, be able to jump to anywere within eve(even jove space!) with no fuel or cyno needed. Be able to carry 101010101030249024m3 of stuff too!

/flame off

The changes put forward in the blog are going to go a long way to fixing them. They should be pretty untouchable if the changes go ahead.

The main problem with this idea is that people have to train for literally a couple of weeks and put upwards of 45-50M ISK for a blockade runner. Limiting such in indispensible service to the elite of EvE with over 3M SP and 50M ISK in hand will stop any new subscriptions ever, and will cause 90% of the population of hi-sec to immediately quit.

Please rework your proposal to work with Velators.

It's cheaper to grab a blockade runner with cloak then it is to grab a freighter (IE: Fenrir/Nomad).
And definitely less time consuming than training jump freighters.

I think its worth the risk.... I also think this topic is a joke.

Jesus I'm glad someone else agrees with me on this.

ALRIGHT CCP you had a great idea when you made blockade runners able to jump to black ops cynos, but WHY WOULD YOU GIVE THEM THE COV OPS CLOAK.

You are giving them the exploit of the microwarp+cloak, and now you're giving them invulnerability in a giftbasket. This is an incredibly stupid idea. Can you rationalize why a ship that when well-fitted can beat a Heavy Interdictor camp needs the cloak that lets every recon and cov ops get through?

I see it was just as easy to forget the agility nerf they get. Decloak them, scram them, kill them.

But the low sec pirates prefer to whine they cant catch unarmed industrials.

Good idea. I'll just decloak, lock and scramble a BR in the ~3 seconds it takes a properly fitted one to warp post-nerf. Rolling Eyes

This is true. Skills to BR costs to much in time and ISK to b preferable to common Industrials, thats for sure.
I think BR r the only tec2 that have less slots than its tec1 originals...

And also, NO: even with cloak it arder but POSSIBLE to cash.
Thats the beauty of EvE; nothing here its invulnerable and should remain like that.

Hell, give them an agility bonus, a speed bonus, and covert ops cloak bonus.

If we're going to make them blatantly overpowered, let's really do so and just be done with it.

tbh i think the blockade runner is underpowered..

why do they even need to undock, they should be able to blockade jump (similar to a clone jump but once every minute) to any station in the universe.

i mean undocking in a blockade runner means taking a risk .......

we wouldnt want that would we now!!!......... ccp what were u thinking?

p.s skunk owns :)
