To bad there wasn't a way to notify players through via some type of internet bulletin board as to what is going on.
that would be cool. |

2310 Oct 29 08 The server went down again at about 19:40 pacific time. This time no warning and I am hanging out there in an asteroid belt with the blood raiders due to visit. Yesterday there was a warning and I stayed in a station all through it. This is a message just now going up on the eve start page: "TQ is down due to database issues. Estimated to be back up at 3:30 UTC." I wonder what time UTC is on the pacific coast?
Another message on the eve forums when I tried to petition was: "Oops Something really bad happened and we are really sorry.
The server was unable to process your request.
Support personel has been notified, no further action is needed."
They don't sound sorry...they sound like stoned fools. |

There is a count down to the server starting up. It is at 5 minutes now. But nothing happened the last time the countdown ended except it restarted counting down at 10 minutes.

This sux, I don't have any skills training right now. So if I don't get any going soon, like, really soon, I could end up missing almost an entire day of training time :/ |

Edited by: Atharax on 30/10/2008 08:26:42 Disconnects, and not only me corpmates talking about it as well. So this posted to confirm what being said.
And that is that the issues with gameplay and/or disconnects from the 28'th still affects both me and corpmates who are in other countries. In short its not just my connection since those players have other means of connection to the internet than me.
So the problem continues, even though not as severe and that the issue still isn't resolved. |

it would have been nice if they at least put something on the front page since the forums didnt work at the time as well, at least to stall and say "yea, we know. working on it". losing a day of training cause i wake up and go to work durring downtime. no, im not waking up early. my life does not revolve around a game, and im not going to be dead at work cause some icelanders tripped over a wire. |

CCP will never do such a thing. They will hide behind the EULA and giving free stuff will invite the players to expect more free stuff in the future for problems due to CCP. The old days of CCP as a small company are over, they have stated they are a comapny in the business of making monies and big returns, and giving freebies is not in their business plans.
Originally by: Erazar imo a goodwill gesture of somekind such as either a free days subs or free time for skill training (ie: for the next 24hours after the next downtime skill speed is increased 2x or something etc).
I know things like this happen now & then but surely one of the above wont hurt CCP's pocket especially the skill training speed & in turn will keep most of it's customers happy & this episode will soon be forgotten!
:)
true & i see what ya saying m8y.. but we aint asking freebies, we're simply asking for time we've lost due to the servers being down (be it play time or training time!) ah well.. your prob right, but one day someone at CCP might wake up & realise customer care is #1 for any company... online or not :s only reason imo why they get away with is because atm theres no other mmorpg like eve really so CCP have the monopoly so to spk!... but sooner or later one WILL pop up & i can bet you then CCP will do all it can to keep its customers...including giving freebies! :s |

I have the annoying feeling that CCP considers the connection problem settled...No news anywhere on the website or forums. Well it's not for me, I still can't go further than the caracter selection screen (station will keep on loading for hours)... Does anyone else still have this problem ?

Okay, for about 3 weeks now I thought my provider was having issues, however this is the only place i get these lags.
I can't even play right cuz of lagging and nothing has changed on my end. Computer is up to date and my provider is doing 14mbs on speedtest.com and others with 3mbs+ upload.
heres ping results:
