CCP:
Great game, yada yada yada ...

But please, for the love of whatever god you believe in, return to the previous search function. (cue vigourous pointing to the top right corner.)
Newbies like myself gain invaluable information by searching the forums and reading. Mostly at work, sometimes during downtime.

The new search function, where google is somehow incorporated into the site searching ... Is really, really S-H-I-T.
Really. I'm gonna put the next word on a new line, just because i'm *that* serious.

Seriously.

Go on. Right now - go and try and find out if Stealth bombers can warp cloaked with an improved cloaiking device, or if you need to fit a cov ops cloaking device to do this.
Alternatively, go and search for 'api key' and try and find the linky for the api information.
Now. Go. I'll wait.

See?

If you do nothing else, this year, bring back the old search function. At the very least implement a forums search function for newbies like myself, Or suffer the consequenses: endless inane posts about the same topic that could have easily been answered with a working search function, and a subsequent degeneration of forums, (Yes, I think it can get worse ...) Thusly:

Hey doodz , ware ken i find me api nfo? oh .... and ken leik bombers warp cloaked up wif leik ne cloak or do it haff to be the hexpensive 1 lolol !!!111oneoneshift+eleven

Chribbas eve-search is so useful and easy to use it should really deserve a link on these forums pages.

Just saying.

The old system didn't work. Try searching for a newer post and dream on. The new system is lightning fast and current.

The Google format is a bit hard to get used to, but people have been screaming for a workable search function for a long time, the old one was a search into 3-4 year old archives at best.

Definitely.

Also, I would love it if there was some clever firefox addon that allowed you to search eve-search and eve-files directly. *nudges Chribba* Laughing

I'm sure it would be pretty easy for someone to simply write some search that uses;

For EVE-Search: http://eve-search.com/search/[YOUR SEARCHWORDS HERE]
For EVE-Files: http://eve-files.com/search.dxd?search=[YOUR SEARCH WORDS HERE]

Apparently, there's a firefox extension that'll allow you to add whatever search sites you'd like to the search bar, so you can just directly add-in eve-files and eve-search to that. Whee \o/

You ain't going to find an extension for duplicating a basic function of the browser ppl.

Open eve-search > R.click in the search box and "add keyword for this search" > give your new bookmark a name > set a keyword, now this can be anything but for simplicity's (aka speed) sake i simply use "e" > Choose the location to save it.

Now in the address bar type e, then leave a space and enter your search, hit return key.

Works for any search in any web page.

[stealth bomber warp improved cloak]

immediately one gets a number of posts about said stealth bomber's lack of warpage under all cloaks shiny or otherwise.

is the search thing broke or are you just slightly less intelligent than you figured? It's a major improvement over the previous crap so you whine is not worthy of cheese.

beyond that, eve-search is still superior, this happens often with dedicated sites. but in the end the eve-o search box just got useful. further wishes are to be expected, however, your format is requested nor required.

Easy indeed.
Find both search plugins for Firefox here.
I've tested both, they work.
What do I win? :)
