How about some new vehicles? not ships...vehicles. Vehicles that could land on a planet or a moon and extract minerals or moon materials depending on the sec of the system. One possibility being that the orbiting ships would have to be protected since they would be unoccupied while mining is performed. the other is the whole vehicle would land and mine which would allow for a new weapon class and or ship class. Planetary combat being another possibility but if not players on planet then as I stated before possibly planetary bombardment weaponry for larger ships. Basically it would expand mining and alleviate system crowding from too many miners. also polar caps would b good places to set ice fiels so the ice belts would not be so crowded. just a few thoughts I have had since I started playing. hope thye are a little interesting at least.
I agree totally. EVE is about spaceflight and great for that aspect, I have no argument with that. I do however think that since they are willing to make and environment in stations to walk around in and interact with others that the opportunity to explore at the very least moons if not planets is not taking away from the spaceflight but adding a new dimension for larger transports and carriers as well as alleviating some of the crowding issues in belts. It would also allow for miners to take advantage of low and null sec moons without having to put up a POS, but ships would be required to carry the vehicles to the planet and the materials from the mining off the planet.
