For lvl 4 you must have some dps, you can fit drake like this :

7x HML II,
3x lse II, 2x hardener II, 1x invul II
1x pds II, 1x pds II/spr II, 2x bcs II

3x rigs purger (recharge shield)

5x light drone II

But of course raven will be better.

I'm curious as to why you'd put a salvager in that high slot? It always worked better for me to come back in a dedicated salvaging ship because the Drake is slow and takes FOREVER to go from one wreck to the next. I like putting something to boost my drones in that slot.

Hornet II x5

Needs Electronics V and a 1% Electronics implant (with my skills anyway), but has a tank that wont fail in lvl 3s, and is stalwart in most 4s. Change out the hardeners for rat specifics and its all good.

For lvl 3s:

High
7x HML

Mid
10MN Afterburner, 2x Large Shield Extender, 2x Hardener, 1x Named Shield Recharger

Low
3x Ballistic Control, 1x Shield Power Relay (best named)

Rigs
3x Purger if you can afford, empty if not

Should be good for 3s, you really need the 3 Ballistic Controls and Afterburner to get the most out of this ship, especially in 3s. It's a bit tricky to run a setup like this in 4s but possible, and you can fit with three hardeners if you use faction instead of T2. Of course rigs are necessary in most 4s so don't think about going in without Razz

For LVL 3s just go pure gank, 7 HML IIs, 3 x BCU II, whatever tank you can fit; if your skills are remotely decent you will crush all level 3s.

For level 4s:

7 x HML II
1 x anything offline for overload

3 x Rat Specific T2 Harderner
3 x LSE II

3 x BCU II
1 x PDU II

3 x Core Defense Field Purgers

3 x t2 lights

Swap out hardeners and shield mods for named if you have fitting issues (1 named LSE will let you shoehorn everything in usually if you only have AWU IV, etc)

I usually keep 500 CN rat specific damage missiles in my hold incase I need to break the tank of a tough rat. Its been a while since I ran missions in a drake though

SPR x 3 seems a bit much, for me anyway.

i use a similar setup to yours but one of my rigs is an extender and and two are purgers, and in the lows i use only 1 SPR, 2 BCU and one DCUII for the +12.5 shield resist all.

i actually have been thinking of dropping one of my CDFP rigs for a bay loading accel like yours... for dps help.

Running level 3s right now in a Drake, this is what I use:

HIGHS:
6x XR-3200 Heavy Missile Bay
1x SV-1800 Assault Missile Bay

(once I get AWU trained, I'll be exchanging that assault missile launcher for another heavy missile bay)

MIDS:

1 Invulnerability Field II
2 named rat-specific hardenera
3 LSE II

LOWS:
2 named SPR
2 BCU II

RIGS:

2x Core Field Purger I (make 'em myself)
1x Warhead Calefaction (adds damage)

Works well in all missions I've flown so far, including Blockade and Angels Extravaganza. Just carry missiles for what you expect to face, and you're fine. Haven't even had to launch drones (five Hobgoblin 1) in quite some time, things in level 3s just die before it. That's with moderate skills too (no AWU, BC at 3, most everything else at either 3 or 4).

Not trying to be rude, here. But anyone using a missile rig is clueless.

You not only get more damage by fitting an extra ballistic control, you can do it by only sacrificing a tiny bit of tank (swap out a SPR for an additional purger, 20% vs 24%). Nevermind the lack of CPU on the Drake in general, which is only made worse by missile rigs. You won't be able to upgrade to a T2 fit without destroying your rig!

Please do NOT use launcher rigs on a PvE drake Mad

For l3s I don't NEED a t2 fit - and I fully plan to be using a Raven or a Dominix for l4s - just haven't decided which yet.

The ONLY l3 mission I haven't gotten yet is Worlds Collide - which is kinda weird, admittedly - everything else I've tanked just fine with no warpouts thank you - so there's no need to change what ain't broke :)

This setup works for me - and when l4s come about I'll be using a different ship, different setup - using the time spent on l3s to train up for various things.

Your opinion is your own, of course - so's mine, and I made all my rigs myself, from salvage I get myself. You p[lay your way, and I'll play mine, OK?

As long as you understand that the bonus from missile rigs is stacking penalized just like a ballistic control, but only provides half of the benefit in the first place. You don't get any real benefit from using them outside of very specialized setups or on frigates which lack low-slots.

Of course you can play however you wish. But flying a suboptimal fitting is a silly thing to do in most cases Razz
