Armor gets 10% explosive resists. Shields got 0% EM.

Now compare the resistance bonuses of Energized Adaptive Nano Membranes vs Invulnerability Fields.

And note also the Damage Control Unit, a low slot item that improves shield tanking.

And compare the fitting requirements and cap use of the Invuln/EANM

As for DCUs... funny example to pick when they boost armour resists more than shield resists. Rolling Eyes

As for the OP crying about large extenders vs 1600mm plates - um compare the base hp. How long do you think it takes to regen that many extra hp?

The fitting requirements don't really say anything since shield tankers have higher CPU to begin with. Yes they do use cap, but so what? Most shield tankers even have capless weapons.

And good job missing the point on DCU aswell. Fact is you can expend a low slot to improve your shield tank. You cannot expend a midslot to improve your armor tank. Bringing tackling into it is irrelevant, we are talking about tanking here.

Anyway, I was primarily just responding to the guy trying to make a point with different base resistances.

Also DCU affects armor, and in fact gives more of a boost to armor over shield.

The point was, it's a low slot item. Name a midslot item that improves armor tanking directly.

name a low slot tackle item.

Name a mid slot damage mod.

sensor booster

cant hit it if you cant lock it!

theres actually that drone link augmentor I think it is, mid slot I believe.

Tracking Computers, target painters and stasis webifiers all increase the damage you can potentially do to a target. All of them are mid slot numbers. No they don't increase your "theoritical" (i.e. EFT provided) dps but they do increase the actual amount of steel on target.
