I never imagined i'd ever agree with a bobbit, but this is awful.

Wrangler, you guys are in full knowledge that the numbers in 0.0 can exceed the ones of jita, and do so regularly! What the heck happens if some alliance loses half of its fleet because the other half can't jump in at all? What will happen when some alliance goes to defend its systems only to find that nobody can enter because the enemy has too many ships?


Just one question: Is this playercap a three or four digit number for all 0.0 sytems? If it's only three digit..well, then we're doomed.

I think you, and many others in here, are seriously overreacting.

The fix sounds like it doesn't allow 1000+ or so people to be in the same system at the same time, not a couple of hundred.

The system in which you're conducting fleet battles is going to be lagged to hell long before you're not allowed to bring any more people in, and besides, who can mobilise that many people at once in 0-0? That's like 1 in ~30 of the total population at peak times. If you even manage that, putting all your players in one place leaves everywhere else you own defenceless.

On the plus side, this faux-emo-ness will at least hopefully get this Infiniband/scaling-majiggeryness going sooner.

I would first like to thank ccp for implementing their own exploit, secondly like to thank them for essentially capping like other sharded mmos (oh wait thats the point of eve isn't it?) and thirdly like to know the point of capping a system if it's going to be close to breaking anyway.

What part of the body does CCP think with? Your ****en nuts if you think this cap limit is a good idea. There are many reason why it wouldn't be.

I can understand CCP trying to figure the lag problem out.

But Just one of the biggest foolish ideas I heard yet!

Apart from all the shouting, I would like to know why this was implemented now.

Jita has been a problem for ages, why the sudden intervention now? What has changed between, say, last week, and now?

Personally, I don't care that much, the limit seems very high, and I never go to Jita.

Then alliance Y floods Alliance xs local and systems both change hands without shot being fired. Well i suppose it cuts down on lag deaths ....

There's no way that those systems are that crowded. I LIVE in Fountain. It must be either a) Server broke, or B) A whole bunch of people came in, or C) It's dynamic.

The market especially has been more laggy since EA 1.1, so I am guessing some code snuck in that really overloaded the nodes and/or SQL server backend.

D) it's been implemented with the usual care and professionalism we are used to from CCP, so it's bugged to hell and causes random systems to be locked up ...

Why not getting to the root of problem and finally implement mechanisms to avoid creating gigantic market hubs, like Interbus (delivery of goods for a small fee inside of constellations) or simply a system like:
The more sell orders in the system, the higher the broker costs. If you implement both, it should work. If not, plz enlighten us why not.
