Still typing up stuff but now I got to wait on how Tech 3 is going to be built before I spill any more beans.

Currently Doing the Juggernaught Series graphic wise.

There is a version 2 of the teir 1 ship and colors have been finalized for the tech 2 versions.

Yeah Im still redoing the artwork for the tier 2 ships and Im thinking about swapping the t1 color scheme with the t2 color scheme and I think I got a couple of purposes for the scientific subcapital and capital ships.

Dear lord my poor ships are mostly going to lose thier secondary role as explorer ships, I guess theyll need to have thier archealogy boosted.

Anyways if any of you folks have any good replacemetn suggestions for the tonned down exploration bonuses give me a heads up, right now going back to the drawing board.

Pitch them as the SoE's answer to the wormholes, so, increase their abilities to be out in wormhole space, with PvP* fittings?


Make the larger SoE ships the "flag ship" for any gang/fleet going into W-hole space?

on another note, tech 3 SoE ship(s)?

Sisters dont go shooting people, unless they got no other choice. and they're civillian ships, so even if armed the are not going to be able to withstand the might of a military ship let along ships that are beyond most current military technology available.

Their study of the Eve gate and isogen-5 allows them to find and navigate wormholes effectively;
% effective mass reduction when using a wormhole per shiplevelskill.
% increased accuracy in scanning for wormholes per shiplevelskill.
% reduced effect of spatial electrical distortions per shiplevelskill. (the effects that are present in some of the wormholes)

See that sounds like capitol ship role functions the sub capitical specifically.

But need new stuff to replace the secondary role of the sister non capital ships.

Sisters are primary ancient data miners, secondary explorers and tritary artifact recovery. but exploration got redone in such a big way that having them as explorer ships for the possible content isnt worth the bonus slot.

there has to be some type of bonus for exploration that is worth being improved.

Add a resilience to the ships. % increase to all resists for tanktype per shipskill level?

Edit:

If you follow the trend with the rest of the skills/implant bonuses; you get this

Exploration Ship Bonus 1 10% Increase in Signature Strength to Core and Deep Space probes scanning strength per ship Level

Exploration Ship Bonus 2
5% Reduction in Duration/Activation of Scan Probe Launcher per ship level

Easy, replace scan time with scan strength. That is what the cov ops got and it is a very helpful bonus. Also, can we have at least 1 frig or cruiser that can fit a cov ops cloak?

That MIGHT be an option for tech 2 ships but these are not combat ships they're purely civillian, but in terms of defense a cloak would be most useful.

Amazing idea my friend and i would love to see this introduced to really help kick start science and exploration with dedicated ships, i imagine it would be very helpful for t3 and wormholes.

Theres the slight problem of swapping scan time with scan strength now as there is eve far less variety now than before when all the other extra bonuses where quite viable still and useful in all aspects.

I dunno what to do with these ships now Im more than willing to scrap it all and start over at this point salvaging a few bits here and there especially the demand and supply aspects.

First off..

LOVE the concept. Science and exploration ships are something that really should be on CCPs agenda.

As they have totally reworked the scanning mechanism into something that anyones pet rollerskating monkey can do in a few minutes, it does kill the stats you came up with a bit, but doesn't undermine the concept.

As long as data mining and the associated stuff is a skill based game, then that would be fantastic. I don't like the current reverse engineering stuff, it annoys me. Some kind of hacking mini-game would be fantastic. If you've ever played Uplink, you'll get the idea. You fit your hacking mods, firewall disabler/data extractor/elyptical curve cypher cracker etc, you find your info source, then hack it open so it spills out its glorious tasty innards.

Perhaps even making it so that you don't just pull up bps, but you can also get t2 components or complex moon mini stuff, RAM etc. Would be fantastic to see this as a way to re-balance t2 prices since the dysp exploit got found out.

I'm just throwing out random ideas, because im a lil too excited at the idea. But i think this is workable, and amazingly interesting as a concept. I wish to subscribe to your news letter :)

Particularly the CovOps cloak/Cyno and the Expanded Probe/Increased scanning/tractor bonuses.

I don't know... kinda looks like an explorer ship to me.

Read OP entirely before posting please.

Explorer ships are NOT scout ships, explorer ships I have do NOT have cloaking ability what so ever. They're more of a akin to a scientific version of barges and exhumers, the ability to scan down stuff better with exploration probes only is a SECONDARY function. Primary Function of my exploration ships is to gather data, tritary function is to gather artifacts for data cores.

And yes I keep up with all purposed changes because as you see know all of my ships just got nerfed when this hit the shelves.

UPDATE LOG 1/4/111
- Updated the Traveler, It now has its own model to variate it from the tech 2 version
- Changed some wording and spelling corrections in Creating Need section.
- Added Reminder to front page
- Retired the Sprite Hull
- Changed the name of the Sprite to the Wanderer to theme with the Tier 1 Traveler.
- Changed the bonuses to reflect a post apothycan age
- Contracted Novafox Shipyards to construct the new Wanderer hull and its tech 2 variant results in a day or two.

My engineers are looking into it even though its a prototype hull we still have to mimic resistances to our mockup weapons for field testing. Most factions or companies dont share thier military secrets with my company but thats helps reduce costs on developing the hulls, Tech 2 shield emitters is something they're really touchy about realeasing how they work for us.

An example of what we do is we use underpowered engines to mimic the ship if it where fully equipped and prepared for by the faction. We do the same things with weapons we make sure we can mimic projected resistances. Soon as we get a new harmonics sequencers installed we should have projected resistances.

Engineers told me they got the harmonics packages ready and will wait to install them after we rebuild the internal systems of all the other hulls. We are doing a ship at a time so please be patient dock workers can only work so far and Im just a single pod pilot running it all.

First step into Eve had my eyes immediately fixated on the prospect of being an influential scientist for a corp, creating blueprints and finding/calculating data which would provide substantial benefits for my team. I expected it to be one of the more thought-provoking fields in the game (I mean, you are a scientist). As with anyone else here, what a dismal revelation to see that it requires nothing of the sort whatsoever.

It is therefore of course with great delight that I see someone not only sharing the sympathy for this awful watered-down profession, but that they went so far as to deliver an exhaustive imagination that is both colorful and rational. Ultimately, I'm very eager to see this all used as a template for what may come, hoping of course that this collection of ideas doesn't die without first getting a look by some devs.
