(+/-) = Indicates a bonus, this is relative from module to module. Guns benifit from Fast RoFs, while a ABs would benifit from Extended RoF times.

Of course I love this idea since I am a science type person.

One thing I would like to add is that it would b nice if there were some ships that gave bonuses to archeology (a science) as well as hacking (you can get new tech there)

I would also suggest that SOE ships could be involved in the gathering of Tech 3 components (announced at fanfest) and could potentially be the ONLy way to gather or at least find it, similar to how barges are the only way to get ice.

Still have horrible ship names. Satyr and Titania need added to the list. Sprite, Pixie and Fairies are all interchangeable, just different names for same thing depending on which region or language the folklore was taken from.

Can't exactly name them after people who in the EVE galaxy won't even have remembered them. (post-EVE gate-crash worlds dying thousands of years ago, heaps of knowledge lost, even Earth is ow lost to myth.)

Er anywho, This has been the best thread I've read in my almost 6 years of the game. I too once read where along with mining that science (as in exploration) was to be a 'valid' profession. Push CCP for these ships please: and don't ever ever limit thier potential to low/0.0 space. These ships would be sitting ducks out there alone and thier use would be limited to alliances only, not the independant type. (Just like Roqs are which sucks).
Even if it was for the lowest denominator of returns, I'd love to be able to do this in high sec, and finally be the gypsy explorer/miner I've been craving for oh so long.

As much as I would love to goto iceland my current employment has 2 more years on conctract about. CCP gotta be willing to pay for that to hire me full time, also lack useful crenditals other than think tank and military adivsor.

No further updates until apothryca is released and had time to observe how exploration is done.

Im thinking about renaming the TECH 1 ships to be more in line with ORE, somehting like Explorer, Voyater, and Discovery where ore has coveter retreiver and whatever that third one was. But ill keep the tech 2 ships names as they would be more lore aligned acient babble the soe sisters would be known to have access to.

This seems as good a place as any to post this, but while we're talking about SoE stuff, I really wish their implants boosted jump range instead of scanning.

Scanning is going to become more important soon, if you want better jump range implants they should come from a logistics company or astrometics company, not an arechealogical/scientific/religious cult.

Harvesting Time Tabels
Time is Money!

As we all know time is money, in exact opposite of mining where the goal is to mine as fast as possible, in archeaology patience is key, the longer you can keep a site alive the more you can harvest it before it expires because you may not be able to find another site in reasonable amount of time. These following examples will show how skills and equipment effect payroll on the same site.

Site has a life span of 10 minutes after being activated ships will harvest as much as possible before the site is destroyed. Simualtion assumes the analyzers start as soon as the site is found. Clock is the time of expire on the 10 minute site.

Rookie Ship with one civillian analzyer
(No Bonus)
Clock 5m
Time Loss of 5 Minutes.
Site is expired after 5 cycles. Yeilds 500 units.

Rookie Ship with 1 Skilled Analyzer @ II
(10% reduction of power drained per cycle -6 seconds per cycle)
Clock 5m30s
Time loss of 4.5 Minutes.
Site is expired after 5.5 cycles. Yeilds 550 units.

Rookie Ship with 1 Skilled Analyzer @ V
(25% reduction of power drained per cycle -15 seconds per cycle)
Clock 6m
Time Loss of 4 Minutes.
Site is expired after 6 cycles. Yeilds 600 units.

Siren @ V Data Steraming Analzyer @ V
(-45% reduction of power drained per cycle -13.5 seconds per data stream cycle, +12.5% yeild)
Clock 7m
Time Loss of 3 Minutes.
Site Expires at 14 Cycles, yeilding 1575 Units.
