From what I understand, the Industrial class ships were originally designed to be mobile refineries, which is why they have such a large CPU capacity. I'm not sure why this was never implemented, or if it was, why it was taken out. Maybe some old timer can shed some light on this?

In any case, this seems like a great expansion to Eve, and I support the concept. I'm not knowledgeable enough to nit pick with the details, I'll leave that to the experienced people and the trolls. (o; Hopefully CCP will see some ideas here that they like.

Nice ideas, very nice.

Not personally convinced on the need for "personal labs" or the lab capital ship: one already exists - pos labs. If people are too cheap to use them, or too stupid to leave the hisec hubs, they deserve to queue. The capital would have to be deployed for weeks to get any benefit, I feel, and the other bonuses seem a bit nonsensical - energy transfers?

I love SOE exploration ships t1/t2, although Im not convinced there really needs to be more than one of each.

Lastly: your FAQ states that your personal labs cant copy (good) but can research t1/t2 BPC me/pe. That is impossible. BPC me/pe should not and cannot change. You also didnt state whether they can invent or not?

EDIT: I will elaborate ont his point. You state in your OP that researching copies is a "want" but would be essentially difficult without your personal labs due to demand increasing by multiple 1000%.

I want to explain why researching copies is essentially a DO NOT WANT. It would completely ruin science. For T1: it devalues owning a BPO entirely, meaning there's no point investing in one and waiting ages to ME/PE then copy. You'd end up with people not bothering to own BPOs ever, except specialist "copy houses" which would inflate the BPC prices, not something which would please most people.

For t2, it would be much worse. With T2 bpcs, these only exist through invention. Nobody copies T2 BPOs, as it is more time consuming, and less profitable, than building. If invented BPCs could be researched, you could get the negative ME up to 0 and beyond and shave vast amounts off your overhead, as well as speed up production. Of course, this would mean, in a competitive market, that there was absolutely no point competing unless you research EVERY bpc you invent. This would be incredibly incredibly time and labslot (personal can lab) intensive, to the point where it would crash the invention market.

For example, a typical batch of invention for me, would be 100 BPCs invented to around 50-55 T2 bpcs, twice a week. If I then had to use up all my labslots (10 on one character), 5x over to research them for weeks just to stay competitive... I either have to train up 10 research alts to keep up, or vastly reduce my output. If everyone is reducing, how can production keep up with demand? Likewise, do you want to make science a profession you NEED 10 accounts for?

Similarly the jump freighter market is balanced on negative ME, rather than PE like most t2 invention. Being able to research these big one-off BPCs would mess that up.

So in summary: Yes to SOE exploration ships, but HELL NO to personal labs. They have to go to make this idea even remotely workable.

Some very nice ideas here, and very well presented.

I for one would like to see science vessels out there in space, and have made ideas threads about it before.

The problem I believe is that CCP development has slowed to a point in eve where they are only making much hyped cosmetic changes these days and not real gameplay development changes.

I do wish you luck at getting noticed by CCP, and even more luck at getting your ideas into the game, because I for one think they would make great additions to the game.

Description

The sisters thirst for enlightment though knowledge is just one of many drives to begin to understand the technology they have recovered so far and apply it as they see fit.
Thier first results where modules and scanning equipment that proved more efficent to thier needs, then they began to rebuild thier aging fleet with the new funds aquired though scientific partnerships and developed one of first advanced science vessels known in the galaxy.

The Wisp is, in every way concievable, better than the hull its based on. Using much of the knowledge obtained by thier numerous expidtions. Many of the aging systems and old computer systems where replaced with smaller efficent computers allowing more room for additional processors for scan analysis. The stucture of the ship also improved using mineral saving techniques to improve the power flow and phsyical stability of the entire starship.

The Wisp has powerful computers able to analyze nearby signals effeciently removing asteriod noise and false returns allowing looking for interests in asteriod belts far simpler task.

With the sucess of the Spirit, the Sisters began work on upgrading the rest of thier fleet.
With so many artifacts lost to private collections, or simple ignorance the need to recover them in pristine condition rose.

The Muse proved useful in this role as it was based on the Sisters anceint transports. Its vast cargo bay that was made use for older exploration computers was replaced by smaller more effecient computers allowing the installation of special artifact storage containers. With room to spare the analyzers can afford to haul in more artifacts than usual protocol allowed as there want normally enough room to store the artifacts safely aboard in previous ships.

with a darker colour scheme, these ships would belong to the black fleet of the warhammer 40k universe. too angular for me.

Flowing asthetic design, or simple scientific is what i would pefer.

Despite numerous protests from the Sisters, the Intaki threatened that these ships must be protected or simply withdraw from the deal entirely. Missile Reel
The missile reel is an ingenious design by the Intaki minimalist efforts. The same reel responsible for launching and controlling the uplink to launched probes. The Intaki made it possible to change links out of the reel on the fly replacing the link loaded with a probe with one loaded with a missile when the time arose. The reel is surprisingly fast in providing a fast refire rate, and with already advanced shipboard computers, installation of the lastest missile control software was a non issue.

Reinforced Turret Racks
Despite the displeasement of the Sisters, the Intaki made some adjustments to the reactor's rectifier array which provided steady levels of power. Elusive Reconfiguration
The computers that mysteriously wound up at the sister's door step, where quickly to be found out thier real function, are in fact the much coveted covert computers used to maintain the gravimetric fields the cloak, it didnt take too much convincing to allow the intaki to get thier hands on the computers to install aboard the urania.

The Titiana joins the Sisterhood capitol inventory after a joint development with Interbus fullfilling the needs for a more effecitent ship transport this ship is able to carry one fully fitted battleship inside her bay at the significant cost to the cargo bay. Combined with the improved plank bubbling system the stored ships require far less mass increasing the ships agility and reducing its fuel costs should it need to be jumped or carried though a wormhole. The Oberon has long stood in the Sister's fotillias for many years as a mobile base of operations to conduct relife efforts from, its expansive cargo and enhanced sensors can keep constant tabs on nearby ships making sure the efforts go flawlessly in great times of much chaos.

When the sister's mission began to further expand into the studies of ancheint cultures, the Oberon quickly adapted with may of its existing systems already tailored for communications and trackings of stellar objects its no wonder this ship is able to support the sisters field expeditions without much retrofitting of new equipment. I would like to see the role of ships from sisters of eve are scan based.

They should be able to scan down cloaked ships.
Not as easy like scanning now, but worth investing time into learning and doing this.

How this:

Cloaking fields has an special signatur which will be able to scan down.( to introduce this ship class)
The technique behind this is in the beginning is tech I and will be avaiable first.

Frigates are able to scan for a base range like 6 au.(inreaseable via implants/ moduls/ riggs)
Scanning time should be based around 5 mintues.( reduceable via skills/ riggs)

Cruiser: are able to scan for a base range like 10 au.
(inreaseable via implants/ moduls/ riggs)
Scanning time should be based around 5 mintues.( reduceable via skills/ riggs)

Battlecruisers : are able to scan for a base range of 15 au
(inreaseable via implants/ moduls/ riggs)
Scanning time should be based around 5 mintues.( reduceable via skills/ riggs)

The sucess should be low, but worth trying it.

To increase the chance of doing this, adding the special role for this faction ship.

"Connectable scanning network"

U can connect a stronger network, if u are in a gang with serveral ship like this.
Upon the numbers the sucess increase.

Spread them out around the system and the network increase.


The battlecruiser gets a special role in this like command ships.
He is able to fit a warfare module which can increase the range/ strength and sucess.


These are my minds around a ship class by the sisters of eve.
Not much detailed but a start.
The possibiltys around something like this are big.
U can all time add more diffrent signatures, which open the ways for special cosmic anomalys where u can found base material for ...??

I hope can use this topic to increase this idea. Otherwise i open a seperate one.

Ship signature size = cloaking field signature size.

- Halo implant set decrease ship signatures, so they will be much more worthfull and used in future
- skirmisch warfare will be helpfull

As smaller the cloaking field signature , as smaller the chance to scan it down.


"Connaction scanning network" - modus.

u need a base unit

pa example: - the battlecruiser include the warfare
moduls
- when the connection modus starts, the other teammembers can open the map, and inside shown up a circle upon there shipsize( and possible scnning range like posted vefore( frigs 6 au /cruisers 10 etc.)
-Inside this area the can set a bookmark and warp to it.
- then they can connect to the base.
If all members are connected to the base the network is avaiable.
- The base can start scanning.
Sucessfull scanned signatures will be shown up for all gang members inside this squad.

Cloaked ships should be like mices.

If the stand still and dont move , they will be difficult to see. But if they moved they got probaly killed.

So if cloaked ships moving the chance to find them increase.

This Network could run an " Impuls scanner".

Means the spreaded out ships sends an impulse to the base, and the base send it back to the ships.

A side effekt could be, that "teamscanning" will be more helpull finding exploration sides.
Scanners like this should consume a material to run.

Ps: U had/ + invest a lot of time into your idea include the Ship concept art. I hope it will find a way into the game.

I personal think, that a capital size ship should be used as a platform, for special exploration/ hacking/ archeology sides.

Pa example if u have found via scanning such a side, u will be able to anchor this platform.
His special role should be scann down the area around it for "fragmented exploration side". Places where u found ship carcasses. or destroeyd stations/ asteriod outpost, from old races. Not s big like the radar sides like eal fragments which are difficult to find.
Material out of this "fragment exploration sides" should be "decoded" in this platform only.
Scientiest/ crews are needed. <- first step into introfucing ship crews and work for them.

Materials could be used for Tech III- or own datacore building( a second chance getting them away from research agents. via limited run bpcs adapted to actual market pices)

Things like this could introduce realy rare "missions".

Collecting researched fragments via this like a puzzle.
In the end u get a "treasure map", which should be a real challenge with an "epic" reward.

Atm, I personal see no reason to create a deadsspace dungeon by my own, as far i will not make any event out of it.
Events are mostly "compressed" to lotteries so far.
Things where u had to work a bit, are not much frequented. Perhaps it change with something like this, but i would not bet on it.

I personal think, atm a network over multiple solar system is a bit overpowered , and to early.
It should limited first inside solar systems, and make it more sucessfull, founding pa example Deadspace complexes, and perhaps little new created events around it.

The capital should be used for research atifacts, and getting informations out of it. Perhaps material, blueprints? something like this.
