Always enjoyed reading the ideas in this thread, just curious why there isn't a CCP response to it yet. Any word they have given to you, Nova, about implementing any of these ideas/ships?

If they had read it then they probably know Im not done flushing the idea entirely out yet and are waiting for that first.

I should be issuing tech 2 blueprints soon and will begin construction of a mockup ship to test color schemes with it will probably be the actual tier 1 tech 2 ship instead of the older pixie model currently pictured.

-Reissued the Siren's blueprint after discovering a fatal miscaluation for the need of armor. Also the workers at the moon reactors complained that thier hours where not accounted for and this has also been corrected.

UPDATE LOG 31.01.117
-Issued the Muse its blueprint, you can now guesstimate costs and efforts to build one.
-Rechristianed the Spirit as the Wisp, the Wisp is a fitting name for the fleeting tier 1 tech 2 ship.
-Plans are being considered for a tech 3 ship with variable modules, more details in the blog.
-Added Tools of the Trade Topic, which will be a full indepth look at the new toys to be used can be found when completed.
-Added Peicing it all Together Topic, which a full indepth look at new type of artifact, mission artifacts can be found.

I am seriously considering a Tech 3 ship as well.
It would be just like any other tech 3 ship with multiple options for each possible choice.
So far considering 4 options for each part each belonging to a theme.
Belt Scanner
Site Scanner
Combat Scanner
Deep Space Scanner

Belt Scanner would be everything to make scanning belts better and faster they are faster at doing such and have enough defenses to ward off any belt pirate from damaging it too seriously.

Offense - Lower power drain on anaylzers
Navigation - Faster Sublight (SOE ships are slow as heck warping this will put the cruiser at military speeds)
Electronics - Extended Beacon Range
Defense - Shield Regen
Engineering - Increased Capacitor

Site Scanners are mostly site hunters and dont lend much elsewhere.
Navigation - Faster Warpspeed
Offense - Longer Range Analyzers
Electronics - Stronger Probe/Beacon Strength
Defense - Thicker Shields
Engineering - (undecided)

Combat Scanners give away to alot of luxurieries the other explorers have in exchange for some teeth. Thought not enough to square off with a tech 2 military equipment or better its can hold its ground from minor threats.

Offense - Has Missile Launchers
Defense - Increases Resists
Engineering - Cap Recharge Rate
Navigation - Higher Agility
Electronics - Longer lock Range and speed.

Deep Scanners are meant to going on thier own though very hostile places where they not be welcomed

Offense - Cloaking
Navigation - Counter Interdiction
Engineering - Decreased Mass
Electronics - Higher ECCM Strength
Defense - Smaller Signature Radius

Well got a question thrown at me about the peicing it together section so heres some spilled beans about it.

The section will discuss a new type of agent, called Agent in hangerbays.

Now its not always what you think it seems, they're items that give missions, particuarly one shot items, the best part is that ccp can continiously keep adding these items like regular missions that are available.

Based on where you 'activate' the item will determine the mission parameters such as location difficulty distance and content however the base item also effects the missions selected (ie taking a high sec item to null sec isnt going to help you get a level 5 like mission) you goto mission sites or hunt them down (some may require scanning and or should or even belt sweeping)

The missions will clearly tell you which missions will require a combat ship and which one will require an explorer ship, in good design they should never ever hybridize them... to much.

Missions will mostly be peicing together a scene or story of an artifact and possibly hunting other npc treasure hunters down to complete the puzzel. Missions should be designed with more thought processing than the simple "warp in, kill everything, use gate, if none, vicotry" layout.

Mission rewards should be either the artifact completed (big RP moola and isk) or items that are required to 'metalevel' into faction variant items or possibly even officer level items as mentioned in the other section.

Aside from that im thinking about adding two more sections

"Tag Teaming with the Hackers" a short discussion about how another set of science vessels in the future will help out the explorer ships

and "Lovely Eistien Piggy Banks" a description of what the new Research Points stores will contain.

Other than that once im off my vicatin ill try to update as I cannot cohesivly perform lower end thinking at the moment and cant seem to peice together anything sensible in a presentable manner or so i think?

Really,i was searching on internet,i was always asking why eve dont have Corvette class ships,and among what i have read i saw the models for some very nice ships,by the OP.
As i was reading this topic i must say,congratulations man,really well done job.It seems you had a lot of thinking and work,i surely hope CCP pays attention to this kind of stuff,its really awesome.Very Happy

If they are they're doing it quitely.


Ill have to start prepping for Tryannis expansion now so well see what the dev blogs tells us until then im going to finish the last few posts and wait and see what happens next.

The moon beam topic is probably going to get the most updates out of this which is good because thats less rewriting I have to do.

After diving and driviling into what make's eve mineral economy tick I got some plans thought up that you may or may not like.

This would center around removal of the module drops from all npcs officer variants included and having them replaced with damaged modified parts instead that the personal lab could analyze and spit out a meta module blue print copy or original (officer/faction exlcuded). Manufacturers can then take this blue print and make thier own modules out of it. Which in turn can be used to help research boosts for various traits for other meta level paths.

So anyways long overdue updates

Update 1MAY107
-Began Editing Posts for Tyrannis Edition.
-Why Sisters, Updated and reformatted, no major change in post's idea.
-Sow the Seeds, Revamped
*Majority of the topic is now shifted to focus twoards overall design philosphy instead of reasoning for the idea.
*Changed Title 'Sow the seeds and it will Grow' to 'Sow the seeds'
*Changed subtitle from 'Creating need', to 'We Begin here'

I had to change the the sow the seeds topic becuase when I reread it (not having a good memory is good sometimes) it certainly sounded like a whiney person complaining about broken stuff. So now the subject is all different with more of a design philosphy mindset vs the what's wrong now. The what is wrong was breifly hit up on the topic but it was more pointed out as a characteristic and then tossed against one of Eve's two bottom lines which im pertty sure are People and Descisions. Some choices as a scientist avoid both which makes it a poor function to begin with, for example Data Cores from Research points is litteraly a very nice example. Other parts was more on the decisions part along the why even bother sorta things.

But now thats out of the way I got some rearranging to do. Possibly another redesign of the SOE ships, introduce some frigate tech 1s to handel the job halfway (tech 1's are flexible so a new frigate thats good at archealogy and salvaging sounds about nice right about now as a 'my first science ship!')

Im also going to reveiw all posts in order as well just to make sure stuff gets mentioned in proper order (some of them arent doing that youll catch it every so often) and going to further logically rearrange them properly.

Im still hammering my head out on what functios the captiol ships should have. I mean the ideas are out there its just I cant make the ships too fantastic or too mudane its been very difficult to find the nice niche' required there.

And yes I hope to get some more graphics stuff done in this edition so stay tuned.
