The current mechanic is that torpedoes gets blown up if they take too much damage. This can be done by using a smartbomb or defender missiles.

This is not a bug, since it is by design.

If all torpedoes explode, it is a bug and a imbalance. Too little life torpedoes. Why not blown projectiles? Why not protect against lasers? Why only missiles?

Dreadnought must kill, otherwise it is not a dreadnought, Jump Freighter. Evil or Very Mad

Using 1 tracking disruptor can effectivly disable every turret on a ship. Smartbombs are just a tracking disruptor to missiles.

Try tracking-disrupting a Dread in siege. Let me know how you get on. Rolling Eyes

Gipsio III replied for you.
And one...
Tracking disruptor disable one BS. Smart disable all missile BS! It's normal?
And two...
If i use tracking disruptor, you use web, you turret cause harm to my BS. Yes?
If i use smartbombs - missile BS (example Cruise) not hurt you.

1 unbonused turret. Oh yeah, thats parity Rolling Eyes

I suppose while we're discussing alternate fits, you know that you can fit armor reps on it too?

Aren't you complayning that torps give ZERO damage? Then an unbonused turret is stil better... :P

I think the main point is that the smart bomb will negate the damage of infinite phoenix's and half the damage of infinite naglfars. Negating the damage of 1 ship wouldn't be an issue, or even two, if fitted for it. One single mothership would win in a fight vs 100 Phoenix's :o

Diminishing the damage I certainly see the validity of, but totally eliminating the damage of one dread when no other dread can be made as useless as easily when in siege....

Defender missiles require significant high slots to be sacrificed in order to make them any good, you can do this with 2 high slots only.

Fix defenders so they one-shot normal missiles, two-shot Torpedos, and 3-shot Citadels. Then make missiles immune to other damage types.

    When used correctly, the following ships can be used singly to negate the entire damage output of another ship;

    1. Titan -- Usually affects multiple ships

    2. Falcon -- Usually only affects 1 or 2 targets

    3. Arazu -- Though it is limted to a very narrow area of effectiveness

I cant really say which aprt fails there but, well ti all fails.
Cit. torps are anticap/pos missiles, being unable to fulfill this roles effectively is not what they were designed for and shld be boosted...

oops im arguing again (heads back to ships n mod's)

Althogh this sounds dangerously plausible its not quite..
dreads cld fit sentry drones, cap turret (lol), sub-bs weapons (dbl-lol) or just not fit siege mode and tackle bump the mom flying dread like a hac..wow why dont they just fix cit torps lol

As CCP Casqade has stated multiple times, this is the forum for bugs and their ilk. Please take the game balance discussion to the thread in Features and Ideas.
