Just a note, that for some of us not in the US, we will be paying customs and VAT on those. So add 17.5% for those in UK + fedex admin fee, and add 21% + fedex admin fee for those in the Ireland.

Is there a limit (and do you know what it is) before customs and/or VAT are added to imports in Ireland? Nothing I've imported from America has had added charges, but I've never even broken $50 in one order. |

be happy . Here I would have to pay about $50 for transportation then another 126% over the combined price of transportation + product in taxes. |

"Gifts from one private individual to another up to the value of €45 and commercial shipments up to €22 are usually exempt from VAT and Duty. " Having bought lots of gear from the US to Ireland, fedex doesn't miss a beat on collection, and usually you have to pay COD or Credit Card to fedex before they will deliver. USPS (United States Postal Service) Have a fantastic record of timely delivery and link to An Post perfectly every time. As a result of this though, customs may be overlooked from time to time :) DHL are the same as fedex requiring advance payment of duty before delivery. |

Ah, thanks for the info. All my more expensive stuff came via USPS, that's probably why I've avoided charges even though I've certainly had orders over €22 that didn't pretend to be gifts. Another reason not to buy these then. |

Between Her Majesty's Revenue and Customs deciding to wallop a huge big fat tax on US imports and having horrible, horrible experiences in buying stuff via FedEx due to admin charges worth more than the goods, yes I am *****ing about it being based in a country with which the UK has no free trade agreements . . . |

This is what makes me feel that after initially laying down £70 plus another potential £50 C&E Duty, plus FedEx admin fees?...
Even though we're in the UK with the current exchange rate, these will translate to about £150-£200 for one model over here. If not more.
IMO that'll probably lead to a bit of buyers remorse.
I mean for that money I can buy a model helicopter/plane that I can actually fly around...
Curious as to what the damage will actually be on these concerning Admin Charges and C&E Duty.

I feel that CCP is taking the **** a bit really to be quite honest. Four times the price just for a different paint job? Anyone play Battlefleet Gothic? |

Actually that's $500 for all 4 faction versions, not a piece. The price isn't to bad actually, after currency conversion (and adding a generous dollop of taxes) it's still quite reasonable at €105 (minus shipping, but plus 19% local VAT) I've paid considerably more for Forgeworld models less than half those things' size. And those were unpainted too. |

Probably best to ask these here than the whine thread about the model's cost.
Question from elsewhere that I havent seen addressed at all:
Any idea if this is a limited production run or a permanent fixture in the EVE Store?
Also will these be available at Fanfest assuming they are not a limited run?
Thanks. |

I just hope that it is cast in a good polyurethane resin and not that horrible polystone resin that the chines seem to love.
If it is polystone then i can guarantee it will arrive broken not matter how well it is packaged. |

Wow! I've been waiting for these. They look gorgeous. I hope they feel as good as they look, that's important to me in a model. They are a bit pricey, though they seem right in line for the quality and type of models they are.
I'm sure happy to hear they're shipping out of NA for a change. Is that the case for all Eve Store items? Particularly issues of EON? As it stands now, it costs me $4 an issue just to ship one.
Oh, and it looks like the new store is already up and running! http://store.eve-online.com/ |

You've brought it to battle... now bring it home.
The Caldari Raven has proven to be an excellent warship against most any class of opponent. Its look is typical Caldari, bearing the signature red band and near-featureless panels on its asymmetrical body. With a heavy arsenal of launchers and exceptional defensive ability, the Raven makes for a formidable ship to face in combat.
For fans and collectors alike
The EVE Online Battleship Models are constructed from a solid resin foundation and are mounted, ready for display, on a base emblazoned with the associated faction logo. The meticulous reproduction of EVE Online's ships is achieved through a combination of plastic detailing, cast metal components, and hand painted accents. The end result is a striking replica of the very ships soaring through space in New Eden.

Assuming a cost of 300 UKP, importing to the UK will attract VAT at 17.5%(around 52 quid), customs fees (toys are around 10% I think, might be higher or lower, so around 30 quid) so we're looking at, after 8 quid fees from Royal Mail, of around 90 quid in fees... although I'm not sure if they'll take the postage off before working them out or not - I included an approximate 30 quid in postage in the above.
I make that a rough cost of close on 400 quid in the UK for the 4.
Customs allow packages under 18 pounds through without fees (double that to 36 if it's marked "gift", although faking the customs label will land you both in trouble (Federal offence in US)).
I've bought from the US quite a bit and that rule causes all kinds of fun.
Buying from europe doesn't attract the same problems, if I recall (might have just been lucky though).
Hope that helps. |
