Question: If I order the Ragnarok will it fit inside or will I need to have a window permanently open with its tail sticking outside? Razz

US$1000 is only about 10Bn ISK at current GTC exchange rates (where a 60-day GTC costs US$36 and sells for 360m ISK). Would be nice if you could buy store credits from other players with ISK, it'd give me something to save for. Cool

Will the new store accept OTHER payment methods other than credit card, like PayPal? That's probably putting a lot of people off... like myself. Rolling Eyes

I'm eagerly awaiting the details on the size of them, and also scratching my head over selling the faction ones in one big set, I'll miss the Navy Megathron Sad

Also, WTB Dominix, Vexor, Ishtar, Thanatos[...] models. I demand a desktop version of my trusty space-whale (or whatever you like to call it)! Laughing

How about oficial support for resiling those for ISK, in same fashion as for GTCs? ;)

It was so nice not having credit card debt on top of my student loan debt.

So much for that.

And if the "faction" Battleships turn out to mean "pirate" battleships (As in Nightmare, Machariel, Vindicator, etc) then that's even more $$ I will be spending...

Everyone that can afford it should buy at least one of these models to support any further development in this area.
I'll be buying the Raven.

It really, really, really sucks that it's going to be based in North America. Sure, might be better for the residents of the US, Canada and Mexico who have a lovely free trade agreement, but customs charges and delivery to the UK is just going to mount up and suck - hard.

Still going to get that Mega though.

Beautiful looking models. The Megathron looks to be about a forearms length in size 12-14" long. Whew big. This would be fighting for marriage pictures on a shelf somewhere...dont think the wife would understand. :(

Pricing not too far off from resin models on the Forgeworld website. Of course these are painted.

(ah... Factions ships are a bundle-only. Coffee helps)

How about Machariel instead of the that know-crap of RepFleet Tempest? Yes, another mould+model, but still. So is RepFleet Tempest if the foils/panels/solar-panels are done right (are they?).

Add Nightmare too while you're at it :)

Ditto on the shipping costs, Being in the UK. I get ****d on customs for anything worth over 20 dollars.

This one time I bought $40 of Tshirts from America, got taxed $80 for customs, excise and additional handling...

How about a Thorax model. Might be more in my price range and the Mrs probably wouldn't complain either. Very Happy

Good idea, declare it as a "gift, plastic model. 10 bucks"

I doubt customs will be wise to it.

The price is a little high for a plastic kit (think Revell), unless of course it's cast in resin (think Forgeworld), then it's actually releatively cheap.

$125 is around €90, plus shipping (which could be a lot). Currently it would be a pain to import that, with tax, etc. From 1 december 2008, the amount you can import will rise to 150 euro (atleast here in the Netherlands). That should make buying the single ships more attractive.

Maybe an enterprising EVE player will buy the set of four faction ships and sell them at $200 each (would make it less then €150).

According to the preliminary page on it, its a solid resin foundation with die-cast components, ie.. turrets i expect.

With that in mind, and the apparent scale of around 15", they're pretty good value if you just buy one. the $499 set is a bit steep, even if i convert that to GBP. But hey, I guess I can only afford T1 in real life as well as on EVE.

Bare in mind production runs & quantities between these specialist models & a company like Revell or Airfix. $125 is pretty reasonable for a large model. I'll be getting 1. Maybe 2 Embarassed

Having looked at the better pictures on the China site, I will probably not bother unless the price drops. The comparison pics to the in-game models in particular highlight the lack of detail. They look like plastic toys. 100 once got me a model of the Highwind which was solid metal and a lot more detailed than these. They may be large, but all that is going to do on a low detail model is emphasise how low detail they are.

Nonetheless I hope they sell well and more are produced.

Edit: The Raven seems to have fared better in this regard, I think the Mega's detailing is too subtle for a model of this quality, not to mention that the Caldari are the favorite race :p
