I need advice on this setup from experienced scorp pilots that have been in fleet battles. Note the word "experienced," not noob bs captains that have never won a fight in their lives (like me). The setup is built for defense and wingman operations, not ganking anyone because it won't be able to trap anyone.

Hi: 2 x 425, 4 siege launchers
Med: 1 xl shield booster, 1 sensor booster, 3 multispecs, 1 spatial destabilizers, 2 ECCM gravimetrics
low: WCS, 3 x Power diags

The jammers give me 14 points of non-caldari jamming and 18 points of caldari jamming while saving cap from equipping a 4th multispec. 2 ECCM's give me 22 sensor strength, enough to beat 5 multispecs. The reason I'm thinking of this is that I hear many scorp jammers equip 5 multispecs now and a jammer that can be jammed is worthless.

what'd you think

the whole point in jamming is no longer rendering the opponent useless.

it is far more efficient and useful to just cycle lock breaks

also what do you mean beat 5 multispecs?

if they jam you first you can't jam them back.

He means that With 2 ECCM he haves enough Sensor strength to beat the jamming, hence not being jammed

I'd imaginie using one WCS is useless since most people use 7.5km scramblers on frigates anyway.

I like my 5 multispecs.

Switch to 5 multispecs, get initiated if you have cap problems. Drop your WCS and fit one T2 Gravimetric backup array if you are worried about being jammed.

Something along the lines of this in your mids would work well...

XL Shield Booster
Shield Amp
5 x Multispecs
1 x sensor booster

You could always drop the amp and fit a hardener, another sensor booster or a warp disruptor/scrambler, depending on your role in the fleet, the size of the fleet and the people you are fighting.

Hope that helps.

Not that the setup matters 1 iota if you pass out of conciousness whilst at the controls, right BlackLight? Razz

Thanks eveyone for the adviceSmile. My setup is geared toward cycle jamming, but a cycle jammer that is jammed is a sad sight.Sad

I didn't want to use one TechII Gravitmetic backup arrway because that would only give me 20 points of sensor strength and a 5xmultispec scorp could still out jam meSad (like BlackLight and ZelRox up thereWink).

And I didn't want to use 5multispecs because of the uber cap drain :(

And the WCS is really just a security blanketEmbarassed not really useful but makes me sleep better at nightLaughing

What about this:

Hi: 2x425, 4 siege
Med: 1 XL shield booster, 1 Shield Amp, 1 Spatial destabilizer, 3 multispecs, 1 sensor booster, 1 ECCM Gravimetric.
Low: TechII Backup array, 3 x power diags

That would give 23 points of sensor strengthShocked (which is probably overkill and not useful) and give me a shield boost amp instead of a WCS.

better or worst than the first setup?

btw, how many non-caldari pilots really equip backup arrays anyway? I figured that very few do because everyone is obsessed with damage dealing and tanking, not anti-EW.

Just wondering if the 14points of non-caldari jamming would be enough?
