im confused! i know this game continues when youve logged out / exited, but one thing i cant get to happen..

mining.

I have a bestower, with a miner II on it, and I have a survey scanner, so i park up..and find a huuuuge asteroid, with way more than my cargo can hold in it. so i set it mining, ....get bored after half an hour, and quit, thinking.. ahh i'll just leave it like that...mining away.

i come back later and login, and find my ship warping to the asteroid belt where i thought i'd left it! ?? Who told you to leave, mr bestower.. and i find my cargo hold exactly as i left it.. not one bit of ore more than X amount of hours ago.

i heard someone say he loves leaving his bestower mining away while he's at work, so he comes back home later and finds it full of good stuff, or blown up (he mines in 0.0 space :O ) -was he making that up, or am i somehow logging out wrong!! QuestionQuestion

When you log off , your ship warps to a safe spot then disappears from the world of Eve. It will remain where you left it if you do not log off.

Finding a safe system and logging of while mining and allowing the ship to continue to mine would cause a severe game imbalance. This game is one of a kind that allows you to continue skill training while offline , but you are asking for a bit too much.

Look on the map for a 1.0 or .9 system that has no stations in it, You'll find veldspar rocks there big enough to fill your hold in one go. : ) If your diligent and set your indy to work 3 or 4 times a day this way you will pull in about 500k isk per 10000m3 of cargo space you have, thats about 2 million isk a day which is pretty painless. You might even consider a second account for that purpose :P

Just be warned that you leave yourself open to suicide attacks. Currently a kestrel, fitted correctly, can delete an indy pretty quick. Often before Concord arrive. Their mates can then scoop up the leftovers Wink
