What do you think it will be? What will be the most useful and powerful intercepter? Also, what 2 intercepters will make the best team for pvp?

Thanks.

Pure frig-vs-frig firepower: Taranis

Best ganking duo: Taranis + Stiletto

Easily dies to half a volley of cruise missiles or a few drones: All of them

So Taranis is a good bet huh? How about the Malediction? I'm hearing a Malediction with pulse lasers is a pretty traumatizing thing to have in your face, plus it has speed and 3 med/low for the support aspect. I am rather clueless though - for instance I'm training for a crow atm out of pure caldari-ships-pwn habit (cruise missiles or not), but maybe I should stop. Or do both. And train for Taranis. Meh. Someone show me the light!

Taranis.

Malediction and Crusader are very good choices too. The Claw isn't looking too bad either.

The Stiletto is ok but only as support--it lacks the firepower to be effective against other interceptors alone though.

The Ares and Raptor will be about equal, and the Crow still be ok but you'll want to forget about using launchers.

Basicly--dedicated gun-platforms are what you want.

Ok well I'll hop on the Malediction train then, since we build the lil' buggers :p Thanks for the pointers. Btw, are you sure three launchers with light thermal missiles won't do enough damage to kill another interceptor, what with the range and crow missile bonuses? Probably too early to tell but I wouldn't rule it out.

This stands for pre-patch as well.

Crow, still. Who cares about tracking when you got missiles? Most of the other frigates still need to get within web range to hit anyhow, especially the Taranis...

BINGO --- Crow will still have that huge advantage after patch and it is not to be ignored. Missiles are also being beefed up in speed and even though you can't carry cruise or heavy anymore you can do a **** load of damage over time if you have the skills for it.

I do about 90 damage per light missile I am firing. I fire 3 per volley, and have a few volleys in the air before I go in and web an opponent.

Net result is the same as with cruise missiles - as soon as the other frigate gets webbed it's frigate heaven for it. What makes the Crow powerful compared to other frigates post-patch isn't its ability to launch a full spread of instant death or its high damage over time, it's its ability to launch "potential" firepower, having a few volleys hanging in the air awaiting a webification.

Turret platforms can't do that. Hence the Crow will still be the best frigate post patch. At least in my opinion Wink

What we don't know though is how much nerf (code from Choas will be put on Tranquility) during this next update with Castor; or will most of the stuff on Chaos wait until Shiva is ready.

We don't know yet, do we? Is there a list of what 'IS' coming over in the next Castor patch? Last I heard/read it was coming in about 10 days or so.

Crusador is an underestimated ship...

4 Modulated pulse with a refire of 2.2 seconds I do an average of 54 damage.... 54 damage x4 = 250 damage about every 2 seconds....

you start getting shot by a crusador you are dead.

Dont forget the range ;)

Crusader can effectively stay outside of webber range and pound the enemy, with ease.
