Hey all,

Can anybody (devs, maybe?) shed some light on what is planned for the Stock Exchange and brokers? What stage is it at and how will it operate? When is it likely to be implemented?

I am familiar with Soon(TM) but all other comments are welcomed.. Very Happy

Those are far off, until the devs impliment more corporate options, this wont happen.

The reasoning behind this is because the devs need to implement options so that Corporate leaders can "lock in" assets, otherwise we can have corporations worth quite a lot sell stock, then declare bankruptcy to only re-create another corporation, thus leaving people with junk stocks.

Not only do they need to allow people to lock in assets (and when I say lock in, I mean they cannot be taken out until bankruptcy in which case the proceeds from the sale of the assets would be divided up among all share holders) they need to have options so you can see how much money they are grossing, how much money the corporations are profiting, and much more. Potential investors need to see as much information as possible to make their own risk assesments, and corporations need a way to have items built in their factorys automatically go up on market at a set price, all of this manual sale is problematic and slow.

As much as I'd like to see the stock market implemented, I'd rather see it late in 2006 and done right, rather than a hack job that is basically a roulette table.

Late 2006 sounds good to me :-)
