1. Yes :)

2. Frequently.

3. I typically use to for bookmarked sites with informations on missions and some hard information on game mechanics (eg decryptor modifiers etc.).
I typcally close the IGB by accident. Otherwise it stays open once I started using it during a session.

4. Not really. However I would be afraid of accidentally closing it.

5. That would depend entirely on the site. I nothing happens if I don't do anything, I wouldn't bother. If failing to pay attention would result in a loss on my part, I wouldn't bother (probably).

6. Yes, only way to go.

7. When I'm engaged in activites that require attention I focus on EVE. If a market page or assets page take ages to load because of lag, I alt-tab out and catch up on IM conversations, check mails etc...

8. No, but send me an eve-mail with additional information on your prject if you don't mind.

1. Do you know what the In Game Browser (IGB) is?
Yes

2. How often do you use the IGB?
Not that often (I rather make fast net switches)

3. When you do use the IGB, how long does it typically stay open? (If applicable)
Depends, on avarage I would say 2 minutes

4. If an application existed that required your IGB to stay open during the entire duration of your EVE session, would you consider this a downside or a turnoff to using that application? (note that the IGB can be minimized and left alone. It just has to be open to a certain page.)
As you stated yourself, it can be minimized so it's not a biggy for the UI. If it doesn't slow things down gamewise I personaly don't see a problem with it. The uses depends offcourse on what the application itself represents. (as long as it isn't a 'hackers-ahoy' wormhole Wink)

5. Does your answer to question 4 change if there is ISK involved? If the site is extremely innovative? If you enjoy the features that are offered?
no-yes-yes

6. Do you run EVE in windowed mode?
no

7. How often do you alt-tab out of EVE to view forums, websites, instant messengers, and other applications?
On a regular bases. I would say 1 time each hour on avarage

8. Do you want 10 million ISK for filling out this survey?
no thank you, see it as a freebee Wink

I would like to turn the question around though: Can you separate your Real Life with your EVE life, in other words do you feel perfectly fine scamming people in EVE, while in RL being a nice gentleman helping granny to cross the street (for free). Or is your EVE life a reflection of your RL?

I will send gladly 10 mil isk if you answer this question Cool

3. When you do use the IGB, how long does it typically stay open? (If applicable)

If it can be minimized I would not view that as a major problem...a slight annoyance at best.

5. Does your answer to question 4 change if there is ISK involved? If the site is extremely innovative? If you enjoy the features that are offered?
If I were to enjoy it, then it would not be a problem and I would use it.

7. How often do you alt-tab out of EVE to view forums, websites, instant messengers, and other applications?
It is common, as I have a friend that I talk to via instant messaging during the day (900-1630 hrs.) until he can also enter EVE.

8. Do you want 10 million ISK for filling out this survey?
Originally, that ISK is what caught my attention, but due to the ease of the survey it is entirely at your discretion...if indeed it is legitimate. Otherwise, good luck on your project!

1. Do you know what the In Game Browser (IGB) is?
Yes.
(Sub-standard, and often not working, internet browser that can be used ingame)

2. How often do you use the IGB?
As little as possible.

3. When you do use the IGB, how long does it typically stay open? (If applicable)
As short as possible. Never more than a few minutes at most.

4. If an application existed that required your IGB to stay open during the entire duration of your EVE session, would you consider this a downside or a turnoff to using that application? (note that the IGB can be minimized and left alone. It just has to be open to a certain page.)
I would consider it a downside AND a turnoff to use this application. I don't like having many windows open, even minimized.

5. Does your answer to question 4 change if there is ISK involved? If the site is extremely innovative? If you enjoy the features that are offered?
If the site NEEDS the IGB, and won't work on a regular browser, then maybe. It better be one heck of a site.

6. Do you run EVE in windowed mode?
Yes.

7. How often do you alt-tab out of EVE to view forums, websites, instant messengers, and other applications?
Depends on what I'm doing. Usually quite a lot.

8. Do you want 10 million ISK for filling out this survey?

Hey,

Here you go, and good luck.
I would like to note that I have just started playing EVE again, so I don't really use the IGB at the moment. But I have used it in the past a lot.

1. Do you know what the In Game Browser (IGB) is?
Yes.

2. How often do you use the IGB?
Almost never. In the past I have used it for tools that uses the "localhost" thing, like a market tool.

3. When you do use the IGB, how long does it typically stay open? (If applicable)
Currently below 30 sec. In the past I would keep it open for updating.

4. If an application existed that required your IGB to stay open during the entire duration of your EVE session, would you consider this a downside or a turnoff to using that application? (note that the IGB can be minimized and left alone. It just has to be open to a certain page.)
No problem, as long as the site is "clean". So no strange stuff going on in the background.

5. Does your answer to question 4 change if there is ISK involved? If the site is extremely innovative? If you enjoy the features that are offered?
If the site has good info or a good tool, then it will stay open. But user friendliness and a good UI makes A LOT of differently.

6. Do you run EVE in windowed mode?
No. Full Screen.

7. How often do you alt-tab out of EVE to view forums, websites, instant messengers, and other applications?
A lot. I would almost say that Eve is built for it.

8. Do you want 10 million ISK for filling out this survey?
I sure can use it at the moment.

Again, good luck with the project. It sounds complex :P

1. Do you know what the In Game Browser (IGB) is?

Yep.

2. How often do you use the IGB?

At least once every time I'm logged in.

3. When you do use the IGB, how long does it typically stay open? (If applicable)

10-15 minutes.

4. If an application existed that required your IGB to stay open during the entire duration of your EVE session, would you consider this a downside or a turnoff to using that application? (note that the IGB can be minimized and left alone. It just has to be open to a certain page.)

Depends on the application. Wouldn't be a turnoff if it was an awesome app.

5. Does your answer to question 4 change if there is ISK involved? If the site is extremely innovative? If you enjoy the features that are offered?

Yes, these are factors that would lessen the hassle of keeping the browser open.

6. Do you run EVE in windowed mode?

No.

7. How often do you alt-tab out of EVE to view forums, websites, instant messengers, and other applications?

Often.

Sure, why not.

1. Do you know what the In Game Browser (IGB) is?

Yes, unfortunately.

2. How often do you use the IGB?

Almost never, as it rarely works.

3. When you do use the IGB, how long does it typically stay open? (If applicable)

Just long enough to find out that it won't work and/or that it will be faster to copy the link, alt-tab out to a proper browser and load the page than it would be to wait for the IGB to finish.

4. If an application existed that required your IGB to stay open during the entire duration of your EVE session, would you consider this a downside or a turnoff to using that application? (note that the IGB can be minimized and left alone. It just has to be open to a certain page.)

Probably a downside, considering how often the IGB fails to work properly. I'd also be very wary of what information was being gathered by having the page open constantly, and how it might be used.

5. Does your answer to question 4 change if there is ISK involved? If the site is extremely innovative? If you enjoy the features that are offered?

No. I'd still consider it a downside, but the ISK and/or features might be enough to offset that downside.

6. Do you run EVE in windowed mode?

No.

7. How often do you alt-tab out of EVE to view forums, websites, instant messengers, and other applications?

Almost constantly. EVE has enough breaks in the action that I'm usually doing something else in another window at the same time.

8. Do you want 10 million ISK for filling out this survey?

Of course, ammo isn't free.

You must be really in need of answers to give money for this...

1. Do you know what the In Game Browser (IGB) is?
Yes.

2. How often do you use the IGB?
On each session in 2007. The application I used broke so it's now 50% of sessions, more or less.

3. When you do use the IGB, how long does it typically stay open? (If applicable)
2007 - 30 min more or less, 2008 - 1 min.

4. If an application existed that required your IGB to stay open during the entire duration of your EVE session, would you consider this a downside or a turnoff to using that application? (note that the IGB can be minimized and left alone. It just has to be open to a certain page.)
It would be considered a downside because my computer need to get access to your url, notifying someone my ip. So, I don't know if I can thrust...

5. Does your answer to question 4 change if there is ISK involved? If the site is extremely innovative? If you enjoy the features that are offered?
- isk : I don't know. There's already plenty of tools to calculate rates, isk/hour and stuff.
- Innovation : no, if it's a tool that I don't care.
- Features : Yes. I'm searching for an igb eft...
The security is something I look into the most btw.

6. Do you run EVE in windowed mode?
No.

7. How often do you alt-tab out of EVE to view forums, websites, instant messengers, and other applications?
1/10 minutes more or less.

8. Do you want 10 million ISK for filling out this survey?

Yes

Very rarely

3. When you do use the IGB, how long does it typically stay open? (If applicable)
a few minutes at most

4. If an application existed that required your IGB to stay open during the entire duration of your EVE session, would you consider this a downside or a turnoff to using that application? (note that the IGB can be minimized and left alone. It just has to be open to a certain page.)

I have other windows open and minimized for most of my eve sessions anyway, as long as it didn't hinder game performance I would be happy to run it.

Very often, IGB isn't a browser replacement by any means
