AS long as we got the dream catchers present today, Iíve got a series of dreams I would like to relate that have occurred over the course of a couple of years and Iíll describe them in order with as much detail as I can give.

The first of the series: I find myself in my parentís old house back in the city. This is a 2 level house (main floor and basement). Iím in the basement in my old bedroom although I canít remember what I was doing. What I do remember was I that I was talking to my older brother (he never lived at the house) about something and we head over to my parents bedroom down the hall.

In their room we look out the window (basement window very small) and I see it is night time. I also see what looks like multiple nuclear type explosions going off in the distance but theyíre going off really fast like a couple of seconds each, not the 5 minutes you see when one goes off. Also the location would put the explosions in the foothills outside of the city.

I only remember standing there staring out the window thinking Ďaw ****í.

End of dream.

Dream 2: The city has changed. In fact the city was completely destroyed and a new circular city was literally built on top of the old city, as in giant support beams had raised the new city above the destroyed remnants of the old city. I was part of some task group and we were sent below into the ruins every now n then to search the area.

On this particular task the group and I were going through old rooms of what looks like an apartment complex. The area is dark and very dilapidated, holes in the wall, dirt everywhere, trashed equipment.

Anyways we come around a corner and thereís a little kid just standing there, maybe about 5 years old. One of the other soldiers goes to grab him and I tell him to wait. I run over and pick him up and hold in front of an old mirror and in the mirror his head is twice as big and really evil looking, almost demonic. There was a piece of metal sticking out of the wall in front of the mirror and I impale the kid on it but it doesnít kill him, he just hangs there twitching around.

We move on and head into this huge round sewer and end up in like a big sewer reclamation room where a 10ft tall kitten that has a second face in its chest attacks us. The strange thing was that we were fighting it with various martial arts weapons.

I wake up.

Dream 3: Back in the sewers. Same group and we start in the sewers. The sewers are absolutely huge, like you can drive vehicles through them. Weíre moving along and come to an area where a section of the city collapsed down and this would bring us back into the old city. Unfortunately we get ambushed by the Russians.
About 20 Russian soldiers armed with AKís and a super tank (imagine the 40k empire super tank) block the entrance and start attacking us. My group has maybe 6 people. In any case a fight ensues for the remainder of the dream. Most of my experience was running like mad to avoid the tank as itís main cannon was a giant laser that was destroying everything in sight and each time the laser got close I could actually feel the heat.

End of dream.

Dream 4: In the motherland. I find myself at a Russian dock hanging out with the Russians. There are a number of us in this control room that overlooks the dock which has several war ships moored.

Iím having a general chat with an ensign about my career as a superspy (not just a spy, I was actually a superspy) and I was telling him how the only way to get into this spot was to move into a neighborhood of a foreign area and convince the inhabitants that youíve lived their your whole life (so you basically put yourself in their memories that you were at parties and such)

Well some commissioner comes in and we start talking about a Russian super sub that was blown up in the bay itself. Iím thinking this is crazy because Iím a spy, they know Iím a spy, and yet theyíre giving me this info freely. Anyways this super sub is apparently massive and the closest resemblance I can think of is a gallente battleship (mind you this is before I started playing eve). The thing was blown in half in the bay by the Americans and the Russians were planning on pulling it out and getting it operational again. They also mention that this sub was one of 10 made. I should also mention several Russians were speaking Russian even though I havenít got a clue how to speak it myself.

So we head out onto the dock itself and start heading towards the edge by the water when American special forces start coming over a fence and in on boats attacking. Everyone is scattering everywhere and I jump into very, very cold water and climb under a storm grate under the dock. Iím basically am keeping myself afloat by holding onto the grate and Iím just staring at a cloudy sky listening to gunfire and explosions and screams.

Then out of no where an Americans face comes into view and weíre staring at each other in that awkward silence type of moment. He leaves view for a second then comes back into view and points a pistol at me. I try telling him Iím an American spy but he just fires a couple rounds into me anyways (which seriously felt like I got shot by .22 rounds) and I find myself just laying there for a second contemplating the pain in my chest then start to fade out and I wake up.

Dream 5: The final so far. Iím at a pretty much destroyed gas station gassing up my little pickup, except that my pickup was painted military green and I knew it really wasnít mine. Iím also in desert camo and Iím packing a badass looking rifle (looks kinda like a AR-15 but really fancy with all kinds of gadgets on it).
My friend who is also geared up comes out of the run down store and I start yelling at him for leaving the door open and letting the 2 guard dogs loose. How we packed 2 people and 2 German shepherdsí into a midsize trucks king cab is beyond me. Anyways we get in and take off, didnít even bother looking for the dogs.

The entire area is barren desert and the sun is in the sky without a cloud. I go down an old destroyed freeway and come up to a shanty town that looks like it was made in the crater of a nuclear ground 0 explosion. We pull in and come up to a building that was saved for soldiers. All the building were more or less made of old siding, random boards, and had curtains for doorways.

We walk in and I see another friend there also geared up for war. He starts talking to us about some guy in the town trying to become a kingpin and he wants me to go take care of it.

So I step out and head a little deeper into the town and actually activate a device on my belt that turns me invisible. I spend a couple minutes sneaking up on this guy and just as I get to him my 2 friends and 3 Russians run by me and shoot the dude and run off and Iím sitting here thinking of how I just wasted all that time sneaking up on him.

I get back to the shanty building assigned to us and everyone was there talking. One Russian soldier comes up to me and hands me a belt saying he borrowed it from me (looked a lot like one of my pod packs for paintball) and the Russians take off and go back to their place. I look at the belt and start complaining about how he stretch it out and it was basically useless to me now.

Well the other friend gets ****ed off about it and heads over to talk to the Russians and I follow behind trying to stop him and telling him it wasnít that big a deal. We get up to the Russian shanty house and 2 of them are standing outside and my friend tells them what the deal is. One of the Russians promises to make it better and leads my friend into the shack while the other one stops me at the door. I start to get a feeling that something bad is about to go down and keep trying to get past the Russian standing outside with me.

I hear a noise behind me and turn to look and I see a bunch of shanty town villagers gathering around and starting to crowd me out.

I wake up. Iím in a bed in what looks like a hospital room and it looks like itís early morning. I see a doctor and some young lady at the foot of my bed and the Doctor looks up at me and gets all excited. He starts telling me about how I was in a coma. He describes how I got hit by a type of nerve gas during the war that made me slip into a coma every now n then and makes me relive my past and explains the girl standing next to him is my wife. Heís telling me all this for a couple of minutes and I start fading out again and I hear him yell ĎWeíre losing him!í.

I wake up again (for real) in my own bed and I spent a little bit of time laying there trying to figure out if this was real or not (damn doctor screwing with my mind). Each dream felt super real especially being able to feel heat or feel being shot and they all seem to have a common theme going like a ongoing story. Anyone got any ideas about all this?

Well trying to interpret dreams is usually futile, nightmares are usually easier but this one im sure I can interpret.

You were either seeing alot of death, being it in real life or in the news... And this is just your brain trying to filter it and understand what would happen in a this situation.

I had this dream where I'm at the Battle of Falkirk, and it's just as the English are running their cavalry to break up the Scottish archers. I'm stood next to a group of the clan Sinclair (that's my last name).

We've got miniguns.

Actually that dream would be historically accurate as the english did have mini guns during that battle...(they were getting blobbed so they hacked).

Well, most of my most vivid or topical dreams have come from:

1) being too hot while sleeping... I now have a fan blowing on me.... I have reduced my vivid dreams because of heat virtually to zero (from what I can tell)

2) eating too much before bed... many people report cheese making for bad dreams... though I don't seem to have that, it may be a factor for you. Certainly, a very full belly WILL screw up your blood sugar and then screw up your sleep pattern long term. Lots of food means lots of hormones. Lots of hormones means lots of changes in your body. Change means your body becomes restless after an hour or two.

3) sleeping with too much ambient light... I like to read before bed. So much so that I often have a very bad night's sleep if I fall asleep with my 'bright/reading light' on. My advice is, have your reading lamp on a timer... an hour or so of 'extra' light isn't harmful in my experience, but 3+ IS. Turn off your light/block up your windows if light is giving you poor sleep.

Actually, there is science behind light ... light hitting your retinas modulates melatonin (and then dopamine, epinephrine and seretonin). Unless you have human-normal light or patterns, your sleep pattern is screwed; so are your hormone levels. Sleep suffers, then attention span, mood, etc. Bad idea, really.

Low light? Better sleep as a rule of thumb.

On topic: My most vivid dreams come from too much light as I'm kept in my REM stage by hormones.

WOW are they ever whoppers. I LOVE them.

When I die, I hope I've had too much light (to provoke or lengthen my awesome dreams), have been drinking (to lower my inhibitions) and are forced to continuously sleep for a day or two.

Only then could I say I've died happy and without regrets :)))

I had this dream once where a black hole was passing through the solar system. I was in a ship in the Atlantic I think. Anyway, all the water disappeared and everyone on the boat was like WTF? The boat was sitting on the sea bed at this point. Then the black hole moved further away, and the seas came rushing back. Damn my brain for contemplating tidal mechanics even when I'm asleep.

sounds like someone played to much counter strike Laughing

would not analyze dreams to much - it often just calls up more confusion
keep it simple
main theme obviously was death
our culture is largely ignorant of it
thus my advice would be to contemplate death in the waking state
it is precious time well spent

you cannot run away from yourself even not through death...
thus what are you?

listen to the heart
nothing more to say

edit: could be the start of a big adventure
ha!

Strange thing my nightmares, though I rarely have them now...

If I touch my nose, I wake up. Instantly.
It doesn't work with normal dreams, just with nightmares.

Edit: Once dreamed about NES Mario brothers, Mario was running up volcano tunnels with lava rising. The Sonic "running out of air" tune was playing in the background. And it was in black and white for some reason (I usually don't remember whether I dream in colour or not). Also, if I'm falling/skydiving in a dream, I wake up with a jolt seconds before I hit ground.

I have seriously crazy frakked up dreams.

The thing that really irks me is that I NEVER REMEMBER THEM. When it gets really bad and I know I had a dream I have deja vu the whole next day different things reminding me of things that may have happened in the dream.

Lucky Micheal. I've never had a truly vivid dream.

And if WWIII happens and is like this: then, well...uhh. It's your fault Wink

This..I usually have dreams...I always know whats happening in them, and I can actually manipulate whats in them - but unless its right before I wake (IE - unless sun is shining on my face) I can't remember it.
