I think character creation needs to be expanded. I would like the ability to choose the skills I start out with. Instead of being forced to choose a carreer a person could be a commoner and be able to choose starting skills.
Also there should be more career options. Mostly in the specialsation part.

mmmmeh.

I think the choices were limited purposely by CCP to minimize the confusion of new players encountering the character gen process. There's enough choice as is.

Not to mention that it limits the effectiveness of noob alts. If you had full control of the skills you picked on starting, everybody could just constantly cycle trial accounts with electronics V to use as cloaking scouts/cynogens that they would discard after the trial period is up. There would be a huge number of these garbage accounts that would end up clogging the server, and hell the lags bad enough as is.

Not supported. Alts would become too good and character farming would be easier to do. Not a good Idea

I don't think it's inherently a bad idea, just needs some finesse.

For example, so far as lessening the confusion of new players, by all means keep the career paths, but make them optional.

Also, put limits on what skills and what levels are available to new characters. If done correctly, this should allow for some variety in creation without making it too much easier to create those scout alts than it is now.
