wow, that is an incredible piece of work, easily one of the best Eve videos out. I heard of it from WDA so decided to watch it, then watched it again :)
thank you for taking the time to make it and share it with the eve-community

I doubt you're actually reading all of this at this point, but some things I might suggest for next time.

A team of modellers can create models for the hl2 engine (rather than building things like guns out of blocks. It's much more efficient and would allow you higher detail while maintaining your current setup of live filming rather than stop motion which would be required if you advanced the scene too far in hammer to the point where the rendering couldn't keep up w/ the desired fps.

I'm sure you'd have no shortage of modellers if you asked. Honestly though, CCP should give you a job (or if you like your job, at least a budget to produce more).

Here is the final script for those who want to do subtitling and translation work (you heroes!):

Scripty linky

I'm still dazed, like being shellshocked but in a nice way Shocked Cool I couldn't believe the reception it got at about page 3 or 4, but thirty pages and a bunch of devs responding? I'm beginning to suspect people liked it, can I relax now? Very Happy /emote faints

I am still reading every one of these, it'd be bloody rude of me to ignore you all with this level of response. I don't reply often and I think I'd explode if I tried to respond to everything but I'm definitely reading them. So are Charlie and Sol Smile

I appreciate what you are saying, thank you. I think going into that level of detail will be what close teams of people will do in the very near future, if they haven't in fact started already! However for various reasons it won't be a path I'll go down for part 2. I'll still just bodge things together (unless someone throws good model props at me out of the blue Smile )

Bl**dy marvellous.

Even waded through the podcast thingy so I could hear of the genius behind this - your 2 year dedication (and that of your mates) is an astounding achievement.

oh, and short of wading thru the 30-odd pages of posts - anybody else noticed Charlie looking distinctly like The Edge? Laughing

I hope you do another one, I hope you get some help(!) and above all I hope you don't listen to any w*nk*rs who seem to think what you did was easy - by the sounds of your interview you won't...

More power to you - crew of the "Clear Skies"

well after 30 pages i think its obvious what i am going to say Very Happy

the word epic comes to mind very often after i saw this movie , and the fact that i liked this more than most tv shows kinda speaks volumes about how good this is Shocked

also this should be on , i think its the first time there's a machinima about eve or at least such a good one like this one

Totally. Bloody. Awesome! Great job guys! \o/

Yes there are limitations, yes it's a bit clunky in places -but that's the charm of it (reminds me in a way of the pilot episode of red dwarf).

As has already been borne witness by 99.99999% of the eve community and the absolutely mental download figures from the mirror sites -this vid is total win!

CCP give the whole team involved a budget -they deserve it, and we want more episodes!

You sir, as many before me have already mentioned, win eve.
No matter who comes out with the next eve based machinima movie, it will be YOU who set the trend AND the bar for this genre.
It's most impressive and funny to boot.
