Simple, this was a hot button topic during the election. I was surprised to not see it here. And if this is so abhorrent to you then possibly go back to the original method, you can only salvage after the wreck has been looted. So two ideas in this thread.

Add a new option to the probe window: Probe for wrecks only, but only if no player is within 40-50,000KM (abandoned wrecks that nobody cares about) [Originally proposed by Marlenus]

Most elegant solution I've seen to this argument.

And I'd personally like for salvaging wrecks to cause aggression, but I'd be happy to give up that idea for the new probing option.

Wasn't a hot topic. CCP stated clearly that it was working as intended. Salvage =/ mission runner charity. No issue here imho.

Allow player set standing to be used as a bitfield value which enables others to perform certain functions
standing +0.1 person can salvage my wrecks
standing +0.2 person can loot my wrecks
standing +0.3 person can salvage and loot my wrecks
