With such start, I see increasing doubts and insecurity about CSM functionality and actual impact towards eve community.
As it is a test, this first csm will serve us to evaluate what goes right and wrong and what could be improved.
I think it could be helpfull if the playerbase could have an option to evaluate the developments of their representants during the initial 3 months and be able to cast a vote of support or removal towards the elected players.
If the representant is good, it should keep his/ her place as deserved, if not, the name would be replaced by it's immediate elected 10th, 11th, etc place as it stands.

Votes could be simple, only a week and forum based with a thumbs up or down indicating support or removal towards any of the members.

Why not just wait 3 more months for the next election?

Having to vote all the time gets tiresome.

In order to review their performance, and what is good / bad about the whole CSM. We also need a certain time span, to evaluate on.

So I dont see any reason in altering the current counsel before its time for the next.

Not sure it would do any good to wait. at best we could take the experience from the remaining 3 months to a better election process next time. Besides, it could be implemented easily and would give voters and candidates a better reason to keep their job done. I doubt any candidate would like to pass through an evaluation process of their work if not needed or having a good reason to.

Why not have a vote every day!

No sorry Revan. 6 months is the correct time I think. The thing that is missing in this whole thing is guidance from CCP in the form of concreate rules of how to go about the business of the CSM. The sandboxism of CCP in this case just comes across as laziness tbh.

Very Happy even I had a good laugh about that Wink

oh my, this is fun. But actually, not a new election process , no that would be very tiresome. A simple pool button approve / remove would suffice I guess.

Now I think I will go back to "imagine" the "images" you had in mind Heartstone ... lol

I'm sure Jade leaves subliminal messages inside his long posts. That's how he mind-controls you.

In all seriousness, I disagree with the OP. 6 months is a good time.

Hard to think how you could be more wrong! Cool

Re the idea, got to disagree though, I think we're aiming at putting together a decent committee here not trying out for "big brother" or "the weakest link". Allowing forum block votes to over-ride the electoral process would be a bad precedent to follow.

This opening day has been a bit crunchy but it was always going to be. Lots of excitements/disappointments and everyone wants to play politics in one way or another. But when it gets down to it this forum is what its about. Good ideas get posted here, the community get to have their say, popular/important ideas get the CSM stage for formal vote, ideas/issues passing 5/9 support get on the agenda for discussions with CCP.

In addition the the comments about voting being tiring, I think you'll find:
- That 3 months is not going to be sufficient to accurately judge the CSM unless it is completely dysfunctional.
- what you are describing would potentially create rolling terms of 3 months as well as disrupt the CSM.

How do you see balancing against these two risks?

lol love, I can actually think how it could be more wrong, but let's leave it for now Wink
And about the topic, let's hope you're right dear, that this first day is just a bad start that will turn our just fine.
If not, I see a rain of dissapointments coming along the next months... not that it would matter for the most part.
Hang on there dear ! and GL
