After midnight tonight (+5hours Eve time) I'll be happy to meet and chat with any CSM candidates (and anyone else interested in this stuff) still up and all excited about the imminent results and such.

Star Fraction Vent details are pretty well known amongst the candidates since we hosted the Eve-Cast interviews there, but for anyone who hasn't yet been on feel free to join up from midnight at:

Please make sure you have your character name in the format (ticker) Name.

Lets just have a laugh and a chat and chill out a bit from the rigors of the campaigning and all the thrills and spills of the electoral trail.

Hope to see some friends and rivals and (friendly rivals) there.

All the best.

Ah pity we missed you Ank, not that many CSM people turned up unfortunately, though was good to meet Breha and Davey and an assorted cast of strange Goons and a robust and hilarious discussion did develop. Many apologies to the Goonie we made cry at about 4am in the morning by not taking Goonfleet seriously enough though, its only an internet spaceship game mate and you won't really lose your house and job if the goons get busted out of 0.0! Very Happy

That's ok Jade. They told me that you expressed a great desire to legislate the destruction of 0.0 stations so that the slate can be wiped clean and pave the way for "elite pvp corporations" such as Star Fraction to take over 0.0. I guess it beats spending time conquering the space.

I think they meant "remove the indestructible tag" (from stations) so the losing sides of epic interstellar wars might actually see their holdings burned and salted a bit Darius. But I think they might have misunderstood the point through all the wailing and pulling of their hair out at the prospect of being forced to seriously defend all the space that you guys like to claim Very Happy

Star Fraction might well be little fish in the big 0.0 pond Darius but at least we don't have special indestructible "training wheels" on our spaceships preventing them from being blown up if we lose the fights.

I fully support the destruction of stations, just not as a mechanism to achieve what people cannot achieve via fighting in game. None of my guys bat an eyelash at the prospect of fighting. The RP is strong with you though.

:edit: You talk as if these stations were a gift.

Well my ideal implementation for destructible stations would involve having to conquer them conventionally then self-destruct after holding for a period of time - so realistically, thats nothing that could be done unless you had the ability to take them in the first place so I guess thats you and I on the same page there.

At the moment they do tend to be - people know they won't get blown up if they lose them so they don't defend them properly. If the things could be destroyed you'd see considerably more effort in the station ownership fights.

Sounds to me like it's been a while since you actually tried to take a station someone defended. I'd recommend giving a shot sometime. It might give you the appearance of experience when you're openly stating you want to re-engineer portions of the game.

Oh hey look... http://www.eve-search.com/thread/681487/page/1

Maybe we should be able to kill stations with STEALTH BOMBER SQUADS

One post above you were saying you agreed with me. Point wasn't taking stations people defended, its taking stations people don't bother to defend because they know it'll be too onerous for an attacker to take and hold long-term.

I agreed with you that they should be destroyable. I only agree because I want to blow up stations. It interests me personally, but then we get to the reality of the game and game mechanics. I disagree with your statement as to the reason and find that it hasn't been my experience. People tend to actually fight for stations when we shoot them. I am a humble man however and will reserve opinion for the most part until you have shared with us your extensive 0.0 warfare and station conquering experience. To have such a strong opinion I imagine it's about all that you do. The only story I was able to find unfortunately involved zero success and a squad of DEATH COMMANDO STEALTH BOMBERS that essentially shot at some capitals. I see no mention made of any stations.

No lecture. We stick the the facts here sir/maam. I wouldn't presume to lecture one of your royal stature and obvious success, least of all in the face of such obviously demonstrated and measurable results.
