Is there a PvP set up different from:

Web
MWD
Cap booster
Armour tank
Close range weapons

?

Ya,
Jamming, Afterburner, speed tank, missiles. Usually on caldari T2 frigs, but missile PvP exists.

Warp Disruption Bubbles

Long range weapons

Friends with more long range weapons

Seriously, PvP is dictated by keeping your target from warping away, this is why combat never truly exceeds 20-30km. You usually worry about getting close range guns working within that range, and you're golden.

Are Interdictors and Heavy Interdictors viable solo PvPers?

If you keep in mind that you can only drop the area-effect bubbles in 0.0, sure.

Also, you could anchor Mobile Warp Disruptors. No need to get a dictor for this.

What about shield tanking for PvP?

It's doable; the problem is that a lot of the tasty electronic warfare modules (including all the basic tackling mods) are mid-slot items, where your tank is, as are MWDs and cap boosters. So there's already an awful lot of contention for midslot modules, meaning that if you want to have a solid shield tank it's hard to have manouverability and/or cap sustainability via the booster and/or tackle.

If you're part of a gang adding DPS (e.g. Torp Raven), or working as a long range support ship (e.g. ECM, sniper etc.) then you can generally get away with this without it being a problem. But for solo PvP, or for knife fighting, the cons probably outweigh the pros.

Also, because of this, most remote rep capability is focused on armour tanking by default.

Yeah, thats the vibe i get... it kinda bugs me that a game with so much choice only has one real defensive option for pvp

Oddly enough, the Harpy and Hawk can pull very strong shield tanks (for their ship class) along with MWD and tackling gear, if you know how. Too bad though that the Harpy is so slow and the Hawk is just generally useless Neutral

Yea, 'nerf speed tanking' - gg - because in the end eve will be everyone flying raven's and megathron, using 'keep at 500' and nukng each other.
