I want to gather together, in one thread, various possible uses of biomass (you know, the corpses that float everywhere).

I would be interested to see if CCP has any plans for using this in-game.

For instance, very negative sec status pilots might struggle to find an empire clone bay willing to accept their custom. The introduction of slightly shady clone facilities that accept biomass as part payment for a clone might be a good idea....or maybe some implants or boosters that have biomass as a raw ingredient....

This might seem a bizarre thread, until you think about where those corpses come from....

Take care,

They are to be the raw fuel that powers player owned station doomsday weapons.

That's sick and twisted and truly great.

We could use them to feed the pet slavers we might get in ambulation... what! Dont look at me like that, everybodys been podded at least once and all that biomass has to go somewhere.

I think we should be able to sell corpses on the market as well as directly to cloning facilities. I don't picture implants being organic in any way, but how about biomass being an ingredient in boosters? :)

i like the shady cloning facility idea.

eventhough - the biomass of my opponents will continue to decorate the walls of a container

oh, and i wish the female corpses would also look female *rises fist to ccp for rising expectations*

Using corpses as payment towards a new clone contract or a jump clone just makes sense.

I think it would be a start if we could extract implants from corpses, as it's a good resource reallocation feature.

Maybe even make it take a chemical reaction, and have it use some kind of NPC sold item, or slot. Isk sinks ftw Smile

I'd like to be able to reprocess them into biomaterials. (The Grade of the clone they had when they met their unfortunate end should determine how many/quality of materials you get. Alphaclone should be worthless or next to worthless so you don't just make a trial alt and pod it for corpses)

Biomaterials should then be used in implant creation, booster production or something which makes corpses worthwhile.

Value of the clone compared to value of the biomaterials should have a similar relationship between Ship/Salvage gained. It should always be less than profitable to pod yourself for your own corpse.

mindflood is people!

Maybe CCP can make it so you can pin the corpses of your enemies on the spiky bits of your ship? :P

On a more serious note, Boosters with biomass as ingredient is actually not a bad idea. Could be incorporated with plans to increase the overall use of boosters.

So this Ambulation expansion is around the corner, and at that point we'll have the ability to wander around with our avatars. As such I can see quite a few needs for a random body.

In theory one could take such a body, extract its DNA, perhaps grow a clone from it and then "jump" into it. Perhaps this would allow one to change races within the game and bring espionage to a whole new level - maybe assume a completely new identity.
