Please make sure that goons do not get any more influence on this game now. I see their they reply with "some people choose to..." This is Bollox, they represent a hazard to the game as a whole. By suciding new players in hi sec they change the way people play and that is not right. CCP should be running the game not these twisted people.

It's not the suiciding that's the problem. It's the complete and utter verbal and ideological bullcrap they bring with them to everywhere they go.

And that's the opinion of an old ore thief.

Hulk pilots are not new players. Especially considering you can't even train mining barges or exhumers on trial accounts (which lasts 14 days).

Cry more, carebear.

At the end of the day, those elected won't be running the game, they'll merely be advising it. And even then, some of the Goons running aren't idiots, so maybe they'll do a decent job at it.

You can be smart and have your messed up views turn you into an ass-hat, along with making you look foolish. Their ideology is ******ed, and has shown utter demise in the long run throughout history.

Their higher-ups represent them as a whole, and bring that ideology to the CSM with them. Everything they say is just the usual defense for their beliefs, even though they are wrong. And until I played this game, I didn't think a belief could be wrong.

Why don't you just let people read the goon csm candiates threads and let them decide for themselves? They don't seem asshatterylike to me, at all.

IMO goons have been the frontrunners for change which this game direly needs, believe it or not.

Goons suicide ganking is a message, to you and ccp, showing you how unsecure high sec space is and how silly the whole insurance thing is. If you disapprove of suicide ganking, don't blame goons - it's ccp's fault that it's even possible, and if it takes a jihadswarm to show you that then that's what goons will do.

And for all their faults, their influence on the game gives them a strong voice which is what we, the community, really needs - if you want changes.
Goons are the best chance we have of averting the POS-spam.
Goons are the best chance of adverting Capitals-online.
Goons are the best chance of reducing veteran elitism.
Goons are the best chance of fixing 0.0 mechanics, by far, no contest. Period.

In the end though I don't believe these csm's will have much influence on the development of the game so not sure why I bother really. Nice drama magnet though.

Thank you for this well thought out and informed post. I find it amazing how people can generalize all 3000-4000 members based upon the actions of a handful.

I wouldn't mind Goons winning if they were still entertaining. However Goon humor standards have slipped tremendously. Goons aren't electable as a result.

Why? cause they lie and scam like they always have done. Any action reflects the corporation/alliance as a whole.

And this "message" they are sending accomplishes what?, as CCP has their head up their backside and hardly comments the problem. And if they do its working as intended/Within normal gameplay etc etc.

We can't really send goons to stop suiciding as they are the ones doing it. They ARE the problem, NOT the solution.

Saying Goonswarm was suicide ganking noobs and miners just to show CCP where the flaws were in the game is completely laughable. They stated several times they were on a "jihad" to force players, particularly miners, to go into low-sec. They have no business trying to force players to play anywhere, and I for one am certainly not going to vote for anyone in their alliance. Doesn't matter how smart they are - they've allied themselves with a bunch of bullies and we don't need that mindset influencing future game development.

I voted for a goon because:

1. Time zone: In game events always seem to happen while I am at work, and I want someone from my time zone (US) to bring this issue to the table. This game is influenced far too much by its european playerbase.

2. Fleet fights: The nasty lag, disconnects and other stuff that turn large scale combat into a game of roulette. I am confident that demanding better game performance is going to be the cornerstone of any goon candidate.

To be honest if Goons (as a whole) want a canidate in, then they are going to get one in. The could probably manage 2 without a whole lot of risk.

I don't approve of the way a lot of goons conduct themselves but their game philosophy is spot on. The game *should* be fun. There *should* be risks. There *should* be lulz.

That said I won't be voting for them anyway as I have a feeling Goons will be represented with or without my vote.

Certainly, one group of players have no business trying to force another group of players to move out of their current location and play the game somewhere else, that would be the action of a bunch of bullies and we certainly don't want that sort of attitude in this game.

I presume therefore that you are completely opposed to any form of 0.0 territorial warfare?

No Vio, you don't understand Carl is absolutely correct, it is improper to be serious sometimes and not serious other times. Clearly goons don't understand. Everyone knows that "proper" EVE players are either 100% serious or 100% jokesters. Anyone who does both is a threat and FULL OF BOLLUX

I dont really understand why people have hang ups on groups like BOB and the GOONS, maybe its just jealousy of the fact that both these alliances are large and successful. As to Goons recent "Jihadsworm" that was aimed primarily at miners...I had 2 Hulks in system when they showed up but because they were "red" i docked and avoided any issues which is what the game is about being aware of your surroundings and the threats they pose. But on the other hand I do think something needs to be done so that we "carebears" have a place that is safer to do what we want to do and enjoy a good game without having to get involved in all the drama of low sec and 0.0. we should be able to roam high sec without fear of a suicide gank wheather it be in the form of harsher penalties or cheaper but better insrance coverage something needs to be done to keep what i believe to be a large portion of EVE player base happy. blah blah blah

As you can see, Darius Johnson is running. He has also posted in this thread, it is extensively known the 'dude' isn't a brightest spark, imagine George Bush having a say in the running of Eve, as we speak he's probably created a pack of accounts to vote for himself and unfortunately that's no joke.

Vote as many neutrals (possibly a.k.a's DJ) as possible for an outer experience, perhaps a couple from large alliances to get the views, even a Goon if you must but not him (and limit it to a single Goon).
