Even though I play the game as a role player and in character, this campaign is out of character. From what I have understood, this CSM is an interstellar council which will be run and function OUT of character. Anyhow, I believe a future CSM would be announced and organised in such a manner with representives from all factions.

To get to know a bit where I come from, I started playing EVE as most people - knowing nothing and learning the slow and hard way. I didn't have anyone helping me out, and gathered with other players as new as myself and learned the mechanics pretty much one by one. About 7 months into my first character, I felt I needed a goal. The asian bloodlines were released. So I started from scratch with a new character from scratch and started to sketch ideas of a more focused play style. This is how my corporation Huang Yinglong was created.

I have great thoughts for EVE online as a whole. My ideas of improvements in the game mechanics or development of the game world reach maybe 5-10 years ahead. I love the complexity of the game, and have seen and experienced how new features have been implemented over the past 3 years.

I'm mainly following the Game Development and Feature Ideas forums on EVE-O. I'm very inspired by the Real Space Initiative and interested how factional warfare will be inplemented. Ambulation is also another feature I'm looking forward to.

The problem I see with these big ideas from CCP, such as factional warfare and the development of ambulation, is how they will function. Being a role player and been eager to get into the storyline events, I much feel like have been banging my head against a brick wall. It has been very hard if not impossible to get in touch with anyone working with it. These features needs more resources out of the CCP staff. I want to see a space/game world breathing with life where you can actually see and experience what's going on.

Factional Warfare and RP.

To make my views of factional warfare short: I think there would be a system where you could either choose to join a NPC corporation / let your corp/alliance get connected with a NPC corp/faction. Doing this will let you be involved in different events tied to that corp/faction, such as scouting, espionage missions (ambulation, go sneak into a station and hack computer systems to get intel packages etc), convoy missions through low sec routes, etc etc etc. The outcome of these events will then have affects to how different factions/corps evolve in the game.

But this would need CCP staff to over look to keep the events and outcomes somewhat balanced, and filter exploiting actions etc.

In favour for more team work and specialized roles.

My views of the development of ship types are in favour for specialized roles and balancing. I fully support the balancing of nano fittings (Nanophoon), multi-warp core stab setups (Stabbabond) and nos (now neutralizers have a purpose) and others like it. In short I want to see a development towards more specialized fleets, than people flying around in blobs of commands ships/battleships.

I also don't understand the whining around ships not being able to sologank as good as they used to. In my views, you have to look at the bigger picture than that. Other issues are macros and mutli-account gaming, such as noob alt scouts etc, which are reducing the idea of EVE being a MMO game.

I have several questions, and taking a page out of Talkuth Rel’s book, I decided to ask each candidate in their own thread…

1) Invention – A good idea that still needs work…
a. Have you ever tried invention?
b. What ideas do you have to improve invention?

2) Pilot Security Level – Should it be more important?
a. (In High Sec) – Should Concord react faster if the victim has a higher security level? If the attacker has a lower rating?
b. Should the Security Level of a system affect changes to Pilot Security level changes?
c. Should the Security Level of a Targeted Pilot have more of an effect on the security change of the attacker?

3) Industry – The Creators of Eve
a. Do you regularly build anything?
b. Do you regularly mine?
c. What do you think could be done to improve industry in Eve?
d. You have been asked to help with new ships for industrial characters, describe a few ideas…

Yes, I have tried invention and think it's a great step for the development of T2 modules and ships. It's very complex, as it should be. The problems I see with it is the amount of time and effort you have to put into making up your own spreadsheets etc to effectivly use it. Maybe an ambulation feature, where you can use different consoles or such to more easily keep "recipies" and notes etc.

This seems to be a very touchy issue, but I don't see the point with the current existence of T2 bpos. They should be removed. I think is one issue where CCP should've thought through T2 from the start.

a. I think the current Concord based sec status doesn't have any real purpose. I'm more in favour for implementing a factional warfare system based and tied to what faction you have aligned yourself to. Concord/faction police should attack any criminal to them, or making criminal acts.

b. It's an interesting thought, but yet again, I think this is something more for factional warfare - how the events within a certain area affects the sovereignty and/or sec status, rather than gathering 100 -10.0 pilots in pods in Jita, for example ;)

c. Sec status allready gets reduced depending on the sec status of the targeted pilot. Also see my answer on a.

a. Yes, I have been involved in building both T1 and T2.
b. Yes, I'm involved in mining now and then.
c. I think the introduction of the Rorqual has been a great step. The current problems as I see it is the amount of multi-account usage and macroing to faster achieve greater amounts of ore. Mining isn't very exciting. It suits some people, as it should, but I think some kind of boost is needed here in the play experience.

I have thoughts about T1 becoming more complex. The difference between T1 and T2 are huge. I'd like to see some more ingredients being added into T1 production.

d. I'd rather see new features for industrial pilots, to value their niche better. You should get a better rate of minerals out of minng, than farming high level missions and melt the loot, for example. But as for a new ship type, I don't have any real thoughts. Exhumers together with a fleet commander using gang assist module and dedicated haulers used properly works fine as far as I understand.

I look forward to a more RP friendly EVE.

How would you feel about a character creation system that could recommend available names to new accounts? It would be voluntary, but could match the faction, tribe/corp that the player has selected.

It began to bug me when my former corp recruited a noob named SPACE FART. Nice person, don't get me wrong. But stuff like that is just another obstacle in trying to immerse yourself in the world of EVE.

Lots of people will say "it's just a game" and they're right to a degree. But I use Eve as an escape from the real world.

While I don't role play per se, I think it'd be great if EVE could move in that general direction and hopefully eliminate some griefers in the process.

I believe a data base of names could be done and tied to character creation. Shouldn't be too hard.

EVE may be a game, but it becomes something bigger for many people, as they invest their time and money into it. For me it has become more of a hobby, as I run my own corp and fly around helping new pilots and corp members.

CCP presents EVE online as a MMORPG, where the RPG part is something most people seem to ignore. Sure, you can say everyone is role playing in some way, if you determine that out of their actions and such.

I hope factional warfare will open up and make RPing in EVE online a lot easier. And I think makes the game experience a whole lot more interesting in the long run.

But EVE online is a harsch and cruel place, and I think it should continue to be. From the other experiences I've had with MMOs, EVE online can be very cruel to the ones loosing their ships and assets, if you compare with WoW for example. I'm not defending greifers, but factional warfare and aligning your corp/alliance with a faction, could present another way how this is dealt with.

If you have features such as declaring war, there will be players using it to extort money out of less experienced or outnumbered players. It's more up to the players to organise and get help in those cases, more than creating safe heavens for carebears or people not wanting to get into conflicts.

What are your views on possible changes (or no changes) to game mechanics relating to the following:
1. Insta-redock stations. ie. stations that you do not ever leave docking range after undocking provided you start turning your ship fast enough.
2. What do you think of the current agro timer system, with people being able to fit massive amounts of armor and just de-agress and redock/jump after only 60 seconds, repair and undock/jump back into the fight again...
3. There are both sides to the arguement of Pirates vrs Anti-Pirates. I would love to hear what you think could be done to balance things.

1. I think it's weird that some stations have insta redock range after undocking, while others hasnt. It should be the same for all. In the longer run I'd also like to see more exits of stations, as shown in the one of the Trinity trailers, where stations also seems much bigger than now.

2. Hard to say. In my experience those timers have always seemed to be too short for a more interesting game play. I'd like to hear what ideas you have on any changes concerning that....

One thing I'm strongly against, is how ships with a 15min aggro timer are being able to just vanish due to the player logging off and then logging back on with another character - so called "loggoffskis". I believe it would be a simple change to not allow another character from the same account to log back on until that timer has expired.

3. I believe the aspects of anti-pirates and pirates would be more advanced with factional warfare. Currently it's hard to say who's what, due to the in my views pointless "sec status" system provided by Concord. With factional warfare and being able to align with different factions, a "pirate" and "anti-pirate" can be determined by who you are aligned with and which area you are operating in.

Could you rephrase that? I'm not sure if I'm getting at what you mean... :S

I pass by Google to translate

1) to prevent the theft of salvage on the wrecks that all is the missionner during a bitter 1h3et all the world for some time?

2) is that it is possible to reactivate agents stations Jove?

1) Still not sure what you mean, but you currently have 15min when you can attack anyone stealing from your wrecks/jet cans.

2) Reactivate agents? Jove? From what I know, Jove space isn't reachable for normal players.
