Anyone tried some fittings for pvp on test or tq?

i think the clue is, neuts. It's a potencial neutrosity, neut monster. Other things are cargohold + cap boosters.

Think spider-tanking-gang.

7 spider tanking Marauders vs T1 30 battleships. Who do you think won with no losses?

Assuming the 30 bs pilots know how to fit their ships and focus fire they would win easily, even with 21 max skilled remote reps you're looking at about 5000-7000 dps tanked but 30 close range bs are going be doing well over 20000dps and depending on the fleet make up close to 100000 volley damage. Now if you had any shield tanking marauders you'd have an even harder time as you would be split between remote armour and remote shield and remote shield reps are nearly impossible to fit due to their cpu usage.

And if the outcome wasn't clear enough if even one or two of the 30 bs were scorpions they could easily jam all 7 marauders thanks to the marauders lousy sensor strength.

30 Battleships win easaly.

In fact, 7 t1 Battleships can kill 7 spider tanking maurders with no loss. Mauraders are terrible spidertanking pvp ships. Some ecm drones and mauraders low ECM streanght = almost permajam.

They work, but only in a gang really. The low sensor strength allows a blackbird to permajam 2 of the things unless they have ECCM on. Which means that you need ECCM in one of your midslots - voila, you now have only 3 midslots left to use

The other 3 midslots are - mwd, cap booster, webber (or drop the webber for a second ECCM). Mwd - its a blaster boat, cap booster - 1000m3 cargo hold... use it Very Happy, webber - anything you web isn't going to be moving anymore. You need a tackler for the point, and domination webbers are also highly recommended.

Highslots
4 blasters, remaining 3 slots are a mix of neuts, smartbombs, and remote repairers, or left empty or with offline modules for overheating. Each of these options have their pluses and minuses, and mostly depends upon what kind of gang you're in. Solo/very small gang - use neuts, smartbombs, or offline modules. You probably won't be able to fit large modules in these slots unless you are buffer tanked, and even then it will be a tight fit. Medium sized gang (5-20 people or so), use medium remote reps, and maybe 1 neut - probably can't fit large unless you put an RCU 2 or two in your lowslot, which if you know what you're doing you can and fit a buffer tank for remote rep goodness.

lows - depending upon gang, either buffer or rep, its you're choice, just fit the 1 MFS minimum.

In gangs larger than about 20 or so, I wouldn't take this ship because you'll get called primary and popped, or just ECMed out the entire fight and be really ****ed because you couldn't fire a single shot.

No, I haven't used it yet (just have gallente BS 5 to go before I can), but I have been looking into how I would use one. In general, I haven't found somewhere that it brings a significant enough advantage to outweigh the potential loss unless you fly pimp ships anyways. Personally, I'd probably take out the cheaper navythron and have fun with that.

Just to be clear, I'm not trying to say that in that situation the Marauders would always win, or often for that matter, just that it's happened. Any good BS gang with ECM support would put a lot of hurt on them for sure.

I was just trying to suggest that using remote reppers in the utility slots for a Marauder would be good for PvP. Non-typical examples FTL.

Hell even with ECCM fitted a griffen will be able to cause all kinds of problems to the Kronos. Not like it has a slot layout that's friendly to fitting ECCM unlike the hype/vindi.

If you come up against one that's part of a gang just roll up a blackbird @100km and mostly remove it from the fight with a single racial jammer. Sad

To be frank, I dont beleive in fitting ECCM on this. It doesnt favour the slot layout, and it'd be criminal to drop web (bonus ffs), MWD or injector, so you're left with point (imo essential on 95% of ships) or ECCM. Remember with an ECCM you still have WORSE sensor strength than most average BS. You'll still be removed from the fight if any bonused ECM ship (even as low as a griffin, but obviously BB, falcon and kitsune are well common) wants to jam you. Its going to happen, especially as everyone goes "marauders, easy jamming, MUST JAM THAT", and you become jamming primary. Not only is that awesome for your mates, but you've not wasted a slot either. Use projected ECCM, kill enemy EW with your own support.

What REALLY threatens this ship is ECM drones, because while even with normal BS sensor strength, a jamming SHIP is still going to get you, ECM drones have a field day with a sensor strength of 12. They have CRAP HP and you have three free highslots for smarties. Only Smarties have the answer.

The 30 T1 BS, without the shadow of a doubt.

Typically any gang you fight will have ECM drones in their drone bay or a ECM ship. Marauders even with ECCM get jammed far far too much for spider tanking to be viable. Thats why marauders are really bad pvp ships vs competent players. Vs incompetent players, heck you can use any ship!

With two magnometric ECCM is it more than likely not to be jammed during a fleet/small gang engagement?

Kronos has 4 medslots. Whats the point of ECCMing up half its medslots just to remote rep? Get a proper logistics ship crew and have everyone else in proper pvp ships. Remote rep spider tanking battleships are a false economey to be honest and are extreamly easy to kill by a competent gang. Such gangs kill their own performance by crippling themselves. Its like people using armageddon as a hauler so that they dont have to train up Industrial.

Thats why you never see me flying remote rep spider tanking battleships. The whole concept falls apart vs any competent gang, and is only valuable in Eve TV style Tournaments, where points limit peopls ship choices.
