Hi o/ Smile

1. Do you think it's important to listen to the wishes of players (the players, who write in the Forum), or do you think it's more important to have a vision, how EVE should be some day?
('cause only a few guys want a change of something, the others don't write in forums, 'cause they are happy about how it works)

2. You know Ulitma Online?
3. How would you improve roleplay in EVE?
4. What do you think about adding stuff to EVE, who are nonsense in business, but fun to do (i remember fishing or planting in Ultima Online).

5. You know Dark Age of Camelot
6. What do you think about war between the races (like in Dark Age of Camelot)?

7. What do you think about the everlasting quarrel about improving this and that in EVE? OK, i hate nano gangs, but at least, i fly solo with a scorpion in lowsec and have a strategy against ships like that. And also i think, the "bigger, stronger, more expensive" thoughts are bad for roleplay and warfare. Instead of this, CCP should improve stuff like: sitting in a bar at a Station or building a litte farm on a planet somewhere deep in 0.0-space.

8. At the end: how do you think, EVE should be some day? (only a short statement. e.g: some day all EVE space should be highsec, owned by big allies (of course this is NOT what EVE should be some day in my opinion Razz))

1.
thank you for an easy question.

My own vision matters ****, listening to the player base is what this is about.
I would be otherwise be corrupt, biased and perhaps soon accused of supporting
my freedom fighter friends :-)

lies and wrong motives tend to reveal themselfs fast.

2.
yes, i have never really played it. the name is ancient, and legendary.

Before i met eve, i have not played any other MMORPG. i Was always afraid of subsciption fees
until i one day realized, that i am happy with this one game, and i dont spend much more money in shops buyng the latest ego shooter. (i am not too wealthy)

I played homeworld (pc) and elite (c64/amiga) - and found several dreams be realized within eve.

3.
It is important not to p1ss off the non-rolpelayers same time.

Generally i would do things to "encourage" roleplay.

Fertilizer on the field..

Player actions should have an effect on the frame.

i.e. My sworn amarr enemies have been true to their couse for so many years
i want to see hardin/siobhan or archbishop crowned to emperor, or at least get some official title in the empire, a baronat perhaps or some kind of unique trophy and place within the story frame that cannot be denied and is a direct result of their long lasting loyalty to the empire.

I simply want more impact than a occasional news headline.

another idea is to have these "border zone" spaces... space in between of the races home territories where people can fly into, but dont have to - and if they do they would have immediate killrights on the enemy race (once an official war declaration has been introduced or so)

i.e. amarr meets random minmatar in that system - shooting can occur (happy pvp faces)

or

minmatar pilot meets Amarr navy apocalypse NPC ship near a gate - he takes him on, and loses - or wins and gains standing points.

those statistics could be collected in a database, and used to create an effect on the story/frame - perhaps a minor sov loss for one side or news reported on billboard
(more dynamic billboard content is a general request i have since years)
i am full of ideas :)

ALL of my ideas are aimed to encourage - NOT to force rolplay, thus making eve better for roleplayers and also for the uninterested majority
(who just enjoy new options of pvp or pve)

but i predict, the more impact on the eve-frame our own action have, the more fun it will be to be part of it and to look deeper into the RP

i also dare the theroy, that those non-rpers, some of em do really hate and disrespect the RPs - they still uncountiously love the game too - for its frame

i mean shipdesign, gate design, weapon technology, market items, borders and athmosphere affects ALL players. Some would just not admit that this is connected to story and rp. But that does not matter, we need to provide the fertilized field and leave it up to the players to use it the one way or the other.

currently, with the elimination of polaris - CCP went the opposite way.

factional warfare might help, but its not the magic bullet.
4.
the best games contained nonsens. anyone remeber monkey islands?

eve is a mirror of the real society in a microcosmos. nonsense would complete that picture, round up everything. As long we dont talk about clownerie and low level jokes.

I think there should be the career of a barkeeper, and people purchasing drinks at my shop should actually start paying ISK for my jovian ale
(For the Centauri amongst you i would serve some "fine brivari")

the nonsense must not violate physics
no fishing on a waterless world, nothing that is against
realism. Nothing that would harm the athmosphere.
5.
only by name
6.
ccp wants us believe that it is coming:-)
facional warfare is the start.
but for realism i would like to see also the other side
player driven politics and diplomacy with a feelable effect on our game-world.

he boost this and nerf that discussion is understandable but also a but annoying.
someone who really played almost all sides in this game know how important the balance is.

imo ccp has done some mistakes, the carrier nerf was some tough **** for me personally.
but in general they do think hard befor they touch anything - and they better continue to think hard also in future. This game is as good as it is - because the balance is beeing watched.

I would not want to change that. But that doesnt mean i am not listening to reason

For a mini statistic 2 votes to Leandro 1 for you from me.

But please, don't try to appease all the potential voters to get more votes, it seem my home country politics and it don't have good result (some of your posts seem to go on that direction a bit).

While moderation is important, clear positions are as much important. The majority of the candidates seem honest in the will to work for the betterment of EVE before the personal game interests and on listening even to people with different thought on how the game should develop and that are very good things but some are promising something like "I will listen to anyone and always follow what those more loud will ask" independently if they think it is a good thing or not and that can be very bad.

i think, only these guys can win who really have an idea of what they want to do. Because voters will disperse to the candidates with "no" opinion, like at the Eurovision Song Contest Wink Only a few voted for Lordi but they won, because the other singers were all most equal.

Have you read the documents about how the council works and what it does?
How busy are you? Are you sure you have enough time available that you can happily spend on the CSM?
If it comes down to having time for playing EVE or CSM, what would you choose?

P.S. So far it still looks like your getting my vote.
P.P.S. You should listen to the community on the council AND you need to have vision right now. If you want people to follow you(vote for you), you need to show them where you'll take them to. Remember Martin Luther King.

yes, i have downloaded the pdf and browsed through it.

how much time is enough time, i have a job and a family that is true
if i cannot fullfill my role i would rather step back than doing a bad job.

If it comes down to having time for playing EVE or CSM, what would you choose?

i have no idea yet how time intense the csm will be, it depends on the priority of the matter at hand. eve i can play only on my game station at home.

csm stuff can be done from any laptop and any location, even an airport or hotel room
i suppose. so perhaps a symbiosis is possible. i will cut down on pron surfing.

Don't know what's up with your browser but this thread is where it's supposed to be on the eve CSM forum. Smile

yes i am. but i hate bumping my own threads. the link to it is listed in the stickies
it _can_ be found. or if someone bothers to look on page 2 :-)

so instead of bumping my thread strategically every 5 hours - i answer all posts that have collected in the meantime at once. so i will be at the top for a moment, and then scroll down again until someone has mercy and digs me up.

i rather lose playing straight and fair than to win with tricks.

does that make sense?

Your making sense, but I tell you I used all the methods you describes above and more. I searched manually from 1st page to the last (2x), searched for "CSM Candidate Zoolkhan" and I still couldn't find this thread. Even though you are on page 1 now again(as soon as I posted the 'are you still running' post) I suspect foul play or a bug or somebody ****** up.
Anyway, your still not listed in the sticky candidate threads thingie, (Just checked for the 3rd time).

More of a statement than a question, Zoolkhan has got my vote for the council, I personally was/am against the council as a whole but a no vote is a wasted vote in my opinion.

I'm lucky enough to have been in the same alliance/corp as Zoolkhan in the past and still consider myself to be a friend, unlike many of the other candidates Zoolkhan actually cares about EVE online and want's it to be better for "everyone" and not just for his own alliance, corp or cause. As a person he has always been profesional, friendly and has rarely ever had a bad word to say about anyone, even when others around him have turned nasty for one reason or another, Zoolkhan has remained possitive and calm.

Zoolkhan is just a generally laid back and nice person who deserves very much to be on the council. Very Happy

The search on eve-o is not waterproof.
It comes up with random hits that are of no use then actually give you what your looking for. There used to be a saying involved search, eve-o and google.

As for not linking zool's thread yeah that is odd.
In here http://myeve.eve-online.com/ingameboard.asp?a=topic&threadID=759877, it says that you need to reply. But most candidates have not done this but are named. And i think zool's personal page isn't linked yet either
