I'm planning on posting this everywhere. Goonswarm is "recruiting" people but it only ends up in you losing your items/isk. They are scamming big time. Please let my trust/stupidity be your lesson. |

Might want to outline the "scam" in a bit more detail mate. I mean what did they do? Ask you for all your stuff to prove loyalty or something? If you gave them access to all your stuff you got what you deserved really. Never give any corp that kind of power over you. |

rofl I saw a guy in our recruiting for goons the other day and was interested in it, I thought better of it when I noticed he was in a noob corp. But that it truely priceless. Not really fair on a new player, my morals would have kicked in when he said he had 3 mill lol, though I must say it does make it all the funnier. They've been doing this since they were formed.
They invite folks in then kill them or ransom them for their stuff. I know Goonswarm's been doing it for at least 2 years.
I'm surprised you didn't know they did this.... |

Not everyone is tied into COAD or played for more than a year. It's good to know these things and to help the newbies not get snared into these scams. Oh, I forgot, this is a "hard-knocks" game. That explains its high subscriber numbers...  |

I seem to recall a EVE TV episode where suas was interviewed, he said something which basicly boiles down to "there are idiots in goonswarm, but not every goon is an idiot" and "there are idiots in every alliance, goonswarm just doesn't moderate them as much"
quite a while since I saw it, don't even remember what the link is for the old eve tv episodes. |

It should go without saying that when you give a lot of stuff to complete strangers, you're likely not going to get anything in return except mocked on the forums.
I'm going to save you some grief: if a corporation requires a deposit of any sort before joining, they've already made up their mind not to accept you.
Lesson learned. Move on.

I did get a laugh out of the goonswarm post on what to do while waiting to get accepted. Basically scam and annoy anyone that wasnt a goonswarm member or allied.
Really I am not going to feel sorry for anyone that got scamed trying to join a corp that promotes scaming. I think it kind of funny that you want to be the scammer and got scamed.
Mind you I have nothing against goonswarm as everthing they told of folks to do in that post are with in game mechanic I just find it funny. |
