okay, serious issue with warfare. my boyfriend plays a charatcer in EVE just like me. difference is that I'm not color blind. I mentioned this before on a thread, but it needs addressing.

he can't tell when someone is orange to us, so he is screwed in war. Unfair I think and easily changed by altering the bracket shape or something. please do soemthng about this, a decent percentage of people have some form of color blindness :(

Michello,

Go to the "Settings" for the scanner, under the "States" tab, and you can set that color to something than orange, assuming another color might solve your problem. Right-click on the color in the "Settings"/"States" window to choose another color or to turn the blink on or off.

I used orange as an exsample, he is color blind, not just red-green or he other various version. He can't see colors. He can tell a dark color from a light color because they are different shades of gray to him. But he can't tellt he difference between like colors or really like purple and red since they lookt he same to him.

I was hopeing something could be done like the braskets of ships, which are slightly different. BS are big brackets while Frigates are little brackets ect... even that slight difference is better than not being able to tell.

but like a circle around a war enemy would be really nice and I bet not too much mroe trouble than adding the color orange. please consider it Dev people :(

If he's at war, then he'll just have to know the people he's at war with by their corp abbreviation

Changing the states of the bracket colors to blink only when: War is declared, target is -5.0 or less, or the target is shooting at you would work. That way in the auto-scanner he can tell which targets are valid targets to shoot at.

right, he can cope, he does know who is doign what and is able to properly defend him self.

my issue is that it isn't fair for him or other color blind people to have simple color markings to show how stand to you. HE can't memorise how many people are red to him, or blue, or yellow.

I'm just hopeing that CCP will make some marker that isn't color based. I know that they don't have too and i don't expect anything to chage, CCP isn't responsable for making people with visual problems able to play this game better.

I just thought it would be nice to have.

Im not color blind and most of the status blinking stuff in the scanner arn't telling me what it mean!

Tricks:

- The blinking LED is numbered, that mean the first checked in setting is the first LED on the scanner, 2nd, 3rd etc... If its start blinking in the middle i know the guy targeted me!

- If you put your Cursor on the LED, a description pop telling you what it mean.

- Finally he could simply modify the color if it's possible to shades of gray so if it's dark it mean it's Attacking etc...

Deaf ppl see better
Blind ppl ear better
Im sure he can see shades way better then us! Very Happy

Change the settings on the scanner so that the only time a bracket ever show is when it's someone you're at war with.
