or remove the asteroids themselves!

Why the hell must this "trap" be put here that hits for 500 damage every 1-5 seconds?!

I was down to armor before I realized what the hell was going on (not the serpentis attacking my Vexor while mining after the mission).
I had no shields, no armor, no resists.
I complained in corp chat and someone said they almost lost a retriever because of this crap.

This is apparently a grid-wide trap as backing to 11km from an asteroid (with the beacon 30km away) does nothing.

As far as I have experienced, there have been no other such "traps" put in any mission that has asteroids to mine.

Putting in asteroids for looks, which is the case here, only increases unnecessary graphical drawing.

The "beacon" is mis-named, true. The trap is the 'roids themselves. The more you mine, the more you get hit. This is a known trap. Most of us manage to skip getting nailed by that one somehow... *cough*research*cough*

It's not the mission or the scenery that's the problem. Try training up a few player skills and try it again.

Despite being perhaps a bit snide, this is exactly true - virtually every combat mission has been logged and researched - and where changes are made within a patch, they are updated within at most a week. It's the mission-runners bible for the first few months you are serious about it (by then you've usually seen it all, but even then there will occassionally be the one you've never encountered before or need to double check because it's so rare).

That is particularly nasty though - usually your agent warns you, or a pop up warns you of what was going on, even if you did forget to research. Or even mission spam in local - "Your mining efforts have triggered a AOE trap" or something.

Better see a doctor about that cough.

If you bothered to look at each mission guide (which I already know about), you will see none of the mention these unavoidable if-you-want-to-mine-them asteroid bombs...more appropriately, the beacon hitting you which you have no way of stopping.

Instead of acting like asses, how about contributing and telling the audience how you do mine while 500 damage comes in at once per 2 seconds in a L2 mission?

IIRC, The Blockade in all levels is booby trapped. Mining lasers used in The Blockade will get you blasted. If you don't want to get hurt, don't mine in The Blockade.

The trap needs a rename when triggered. The trap is not broken otherwise. The website I linked above is just one of any number of places to research missions. No single list will have every single detail on every mission.

The mission ain't broke. The website ain't broke. Perhaps there's a human element somewhere that could use a boost/nerf/clue.
