The point is to get more pew-pew. Everyone can shoot outlaw, and it should be more fun!

All that would happen is a lot of the .5 systems would be empty like lowsec and everyone would move to .6 Rolling Eyes

If people wanted to pew pew with the pirates they would be in lowsec already Idea

The difference between the gankers of today and the hypothetical gankers of tomorrow (if this idea was real) is that today's gankers are suffering security loss. It's already been proven that you can put together a suicide gank BS that literally costs you nothing at all after insurance. That's why the idea isn't viable.

True, and really the only compeling arguement against the suggestion. Suicide gankers would never be "shown the door" due to their eventual low security status and could setup permanant shop.

My main point was that the assumption people would avoid .5s due to the appearance of lowsec type things might actually have the opposite effect. In my experience most suicide gank victims die due to "head up ass" syndrome more than anything else. Having a bunch of flashy reds around might cure that to some degree. People might actually treat .5s as they should, with a degree more caution, rather than thinking of .5 to .4 as the black and white border between "I'm safe" and "I'm not safe".

Doesn't really matter. It's all theory-crafting anyway.

So the pirates are starting to find it a pain to get modules and ships because the carebares wont goto 0.4 and below to sell their wares.
Pirate has an alt and friends to haul his stuff for him but its either a pain for him to log off and log his alt in haul his stuff to station X, Or wait for his friends to log in to haul his stuff to and from him.

I say NO, you have your sec status through your own actions you decided to pew pew people in low sec and generally gank people for your own pleasure,
Now that things are a little hard for you, you call foul I want into 0.5, where after a while you will get bored and start ganking in 0.5 after you get bored of the 0.5 what 0.6 and all the way up to 1 dont you think their is enough ganking in empire as it is ?

When you have ganked every player be it industrialist or miner who is goijng to make your modules / ships, You going use your alt perchance ? you mean the one that got ganked in a belt mining the ore you needed for your ship / module by another ebbil piwate.

So again I say NO to your idea the sec of the systems is fine seeing as it goes from 0.0 to 1 giving a total of 11 diffrent security levels you get 0.0 to 0.4 which is 5 types of system the the rest get all of them with 6 that you cant really enter where they are relativly safe which TBH is fare enough ganking still happens in the high sec systems but not as much as would happen once you pirates get into them.

How it happens now:
  1. Suicide ganker(s) form up and sit in well travelled spot
  2. Suicide ganker(s) wait for the 'most' profitable target to come along (Goonswarm are an exception)
  3. Gank happens
  4. Alt scoops loot

What would happen if an outlaw tried it in theoretical 0.5:
  1. Suicide ganker(s) sit on a gate
  2. Suicide ganker(s) get picked off by anti-pie gang/blob/whatever, since they cant all fight back without gcc

Outlaw plan B:
  1. Suicide ganker(s) sit on a gate with a few remote reps thrown in
  2. Suicide ganker(s) get picked off by anti-pie gang/blob/whatever, remote reps = gcc = *pop*

Outlaw plan C:
  1. Suicide ganker(s) sit in ninja-safespot away from the gate
  2. Scout be it an alt or high sec anybody, sits on gate scanning for ships

The last scenario, which is what I would suspect would happen in the end is still much easier to avoid (with a decent align time and not afk)and at the very worst you are no worse off then now. Since you would have to have your cargo scanned when you jump though a gate so the gank would happen several jumps later. That and the outlaws run the risk of being probed out (not much due to effort and being aligned but the risk is still there)

I dont think it would increase suicide ganking dramatically, tbh.

Me either. In fact it might even go down. Which was my point in a round about way. People might stop AFK autopiloting through .5s if they get to see flashy reds buzzing around more often.

My initial post was directed at those people saying, "Oh Noes... It would just turn .5s into lowsec and everyone would just go to .6s and above".

It's funny how many people can't see this as a logical suggestion... It wouldn't change much of anything tbh.

Six highsec sec status systems
1.0
0.9
0.8
0.7
0.6
0.5

Four "lowsec"
0.4
0.3
0.2
0.1

Nullsec

IMBA! Make it five and five to be fair Wink

Actualy with no one going to low sec make 0.4 and above high sec.
Then you pirates can be pushed closer together so you can have more tragets and Empire pepole can spread out a little!!

Face it CCP my plan is better then yours.

Good idea, just needs one tweak:

Aggression (suicide) by flashy reds is responded to by Concord with 1.0 speed. In other words, 1 salvo, if that.

Personally I'm fine with outlaws going anywhere as long as they are still targets for anyone that wants to shoot them. However, you need to give something back to the carebears...okay how about .5+ is true safe space. No more fake pvp; no more pvgank by suicide; no more can flipping and no more of any of the other methods gankbears use. If you're in .5+, you can't activate guns/missles or any damage dealing module unless
1. It's a war target.
2. It's a -5 security standing
3. It's aggressed you first

These rules would go for any security standing not just -5.

You want to be a pirate, excellent. Stay true to the pirate lifestyle get to -10 and stay there. No more trying to fix your standing with pve or missions. Seriously, the security standing forces outlaws into machinations to try to fix their standing just for a convenience sake. I think being a target to anyone who wants to shoot at them is sufficient penalty for negative security standing.

Oh and lets quit pretending that the thousands of belts in low sec are viable mining content. Move 75% of those belts to .5+

SO...you wouldn't mind if 0.0 could come into low sec and claim sovereignty then i assume?
I would support this idea if by letting (wannabe)criminals run through all of high sec we bring 0.0 up to 0.5 and get rid of low sec all together.Razz

Looks fine to me.

I can just see flashy -10 bait-damnations sucking in a bunch of carebears to traps, hehehe.

So... Criminals can enter, but no touchy touchy. If they get fired upon they're free to fire back, but the whole dumb corp-sentry gun-aggro rule of lowsec applies, IE since you're -5 or lower, you get no corp support.

Full support! Very Happy

in lowsec the pirate can choose the fight, in the "new" 0.5 the carebear really has no obligation to fight or even run.

hell even seeing flashy reds really wouldn't make me even want to leave .5 as level 4 missions are quite easy to run even in crapily fit ravens. if they wanted to gank me trust me they already could.

I totaly disagree with this proposition the sec lvl are astablished to protect the new podders & the likes. th allow this would just mean less space for thos who actualy respect other ppls gameplay . i do understand that some pple like to bash other ppl if that is your case go play wow cose its axacly what it is !

I like to play & for me play means not bashing things all the time & not getting bashed either. if you what action go lowsec & leave us be ! if you do enjoy high sec then it was up to you to keep that access in the first place dont blame the game for it. As for the borderline its in 0.4 & thats how it is.

There will always be sadistic pple who like to podd the newbie thats not fairplay. & your a -10 then there is a reason for why you cant get in to higher sec systems ...

Podding newbies is due to the amount of noob alt scouts that get thrown at pirates. I actually like to help new people out rather than make their first experience being podded, however I can't afford to let them stay in system if they're sitting around watching whats going on.

Just my opinion... but meh. Some people in here have the right attitude about changing things. I gotta ask, have you ever been locked down by NPC Police? They're complete crap, and a feature of the game that is completely useless.

I love the idea. EVE has grown big enough to let the players themselves handle the outlaws.
I say, allow outlaws into all of eve. If they can hang anywhere for long enough to do some harm, the anti-pirates failed. :)

I pondered this for a little while, and my answer would have to be no. A lot of people put on a big dog and pony show on the forums about how 'eve is a <insert playstyle here> game' without offering any real supporting evidence, but the actual developer intention appears to be a game where you can do whatever you want, good or bad, but all actions will have consequences. Hence why CCP spends so much time trying to buff and balance all the possible things you can do in the Eve universe, without letting any one of them become a win-button that you *have* to do to get ahead. One of these playstyles is of course piracy, and one of the intended consequences since the beginning is that if you go outlaw, you lose access to the good markets and short high-sec travel routes as a counterbalance for all the fun you get to have in low sec.

Alts suck , make it happen ! YARRRR!!

Midsec would promote interaction and conflict - antipirates would camp gates , pirates could wardec them in return.

There is no real downside to this. As far as suicide ganking goes , it would only work for outlaws in 0.5 systems , one jump away from lowsec where they do not have to lose their ships to kill stuff. Of course , there may be an increased traffic of goods to supply outlaws , but the traders would be well aware of the risk.

They do. This feature is called "scouting".

Empire carebears think they have it so bad, but in reality they're just too lazy to take the precautions that every single other low-sec or 0.0 player takes virtually every jump.

Yep too lazy to meta game. Something that shouldn't be necessary in the first place.

So If I need to use a scout alt to check gates than Pirates need to use an alt to access Empire. Therefore the idea this thread suggests isn't needed and shouldn't be put in. Shocked

Yeah because not one single "carebear" ever uses a scout alt character.
