And now Black Mountain ends, by looking towards the beginning. This is not how it all started, because nothing is, but it is nonetheless an instant we can point to and go, "There. This is where the spark flew to the thatch; this is where the cement crumbled from the dam's old foundation; this is where someone heard something they shouldn't have, and made a decision."

Thank you for reading. In two weeks' time we start in on single-shot chronicles, many of which will be related in one way or another to the upcoming publication of the EVE novel.

It's a good ending, because he can tie another story on it ;)

(Uber spoilers, possibly)
I thought she was the one that died with Nale on the station after getting a knife thrown at her.

hrmm, actually, Hona isn't mentioned after sinking to the floor clutching her thigh, iirc
plz feel free to correct me with an actual quote if I am wrong Smile

but this would leave her free to leave while Nale and Draea are fighting, as Nale has so convincingly abandoned her ugh

Really trashy writing, as is most of the installments in this chronicle. Nice idea though. Neutral

Abraxas, will Black Mountain be made into a PDF document like Theodicy was and put in the short stories section? Or will they be left as they?

i dont get it, wasnt the lead person a woman?

with #1 and #2 talking at the end it makes it look as though a man saw the videos, and since the story was being told through the perspective of a woman in 1,2 and this one,

??

Hona escaped, though rather worse for wear. Some day I will write a followup story on her called "Hona is Three". Any Harlan Ellison fans in the house?

We've no plans at the moment to move it over. It's not a short story, and in my mind should be read in individual instalments. Also, I want people to read it, which they won't do if it's in a section that's even less accessible than the chronicle pages. Some people have already converted it to PDF, mind, one of which posted on this very thread.

Nah, the only woman in this story is Hona, who never appears and is merely spoken of by other characters. #1 and #2 are Sisters operatives, one of whom starred in one of the earliest BM instalments, "Inertial".
