The 'Fendahlian Collective', an adolescent hacker group which is regarded as the creator of the warp focusing scrip has released their latest collection of scripts. These have been created for the Codebreaker module, specifically for stargate manipulation. The scripts carry an ever-changing virus code that morphs it code and thus preventing CONCORD to upgrade stargates with anything that would make their viruses more vulnerable to anti-viral software.
CONCORD has banned their use in empire space and will respond with lethal force if anyone attempts to infect a stargate in any empire system. Since they have no influence on lawless space the collective has made their innovation available to the pod-pilots who live in those harsh conditions.
As of this moment CONCORD has identified the following scripts:
The first virus was basically created to test out how stargates would respond and it seems the collective was pleased with the results since they did not stop the development of more intricate viruses. A relatively simple virus imbeds itself in the communication processing CPU cluster of the stargate and turns off any equipment and software that is able to process stargate activation requests. This makes the stargate useless for up to 10 minutes until the anti-virus software can identify and remove the virus. This virus only shuts down one of the stargate pairs, so you can still travel from the destination system to the ‘’infected’’ system.
Novice hackers with hacking lvl 1 use the virus with a 100% success rate.
Codenamed Lockdown MkII a more intricate virus that deactivates stargate communication, but also sends a copy of itself to the destination systems stargate and deactivates all communication processing software and hardware making travel to and from the system impossible for 7 minutes.
A more complex virus, requiring a more detail understanding of hacking, requires hacking lvl 2.
The collective after completing lockdown sought a greater challenge. Their next creation would target the stargates power regulation software attempting to overload it and hopefully destroy the gate and any ship ships within a 100 km radius of the gate. The virus did not perform as they planned and some argue it worked even better. As a ship would request activation, the virus would start the overload sequence. Instead of ‘’blowing up everything’’ the stargate would hurl the ship into a different system instead of its destination. A tough virus for the anti-viral system, requiring 20 minutes for a total virus purge.
Testing the pod pilots hacking knowledge, this virus requires hacking lvl 3.
Usaly it would be the system after the destination, but there are reports of merging the virus with a rogue drone AI found in the drone regions creating something that pod pilots would fear the most. The ‘’Overdose’’ virus.
The rogue drone AI would create such a massive gate overload it would hurl a ship from 20 to 70 light-years from the system of origin. The AI would also choose a 0.0 system and preferably one with the highest number of pilots in it. CONCORD scientist are baffled how this is possible and are urging pod pilots to bring as many rogue drone AIs to CONCORD stations for further study.
Due to the rogue drone AI it can adapt and hide its movement through the stargate systems and is thus impossible to disinfect. Although reports indicate the virus usually disappears on it’s own after an hour or 30 ships requesting activation.
For infection a pod pilot needs the overload script, an rogue drone AI and hacking lvl 3.

The virus that the collective regards as its finest work does not lockdown systems or sends you to the other end of the New Eden cluster. It rather embeds itself in a critical file, sends a copy to the destination system stargate and marks any ship using the stargate. With this tag the person who planted the virus can see where the tagged person is and in what ship. Using the fleet communication system all commanders can see the movement of hostiles passing through the infected gate.
An extremely complex virus requires a vast knowledge of hacking, so pod pilots with their hacking trained to at least lvl 4 have no chance of infecting a gate with the paranoia virus.
CONCORD have released a script for the codebreaker module called ‘’Foresight’’ that can run a detailed diagnostic on any lawless space stagate and identifying any planted viruses. Although if the pod pilot does not have his or hers hacking skill equal or higher that is needed to deploy the virus they won’t be able to detect it.
