Hello community,

is there any story about EVE-Online? I mean is there a story ingame? At least i found some quests who looked important but i can't find any story related quests anymore. Where can i start story related quests?

Thanks,
Acuris

The backhistory can be found by watching the intro-movie to Eve.

The lore of the game can be found by reading the chronicles.

The in-game story missions can be found through cosmos agents.

Read the various chronicles and short stories, as well as checking out the EVE Library (there is some good unofficial fiction in there that conforms well to the backstory of EVE). If you have extra money, you can also subscribe to EON, which has a few short stories in it each week that are checked by CCP to make sure they fit within the EVE story as well, so they do sort of work as some extra information.

There is also an EVE book currently being written, which will be out sometime soon in book shops.

Yeah thanks - but isn't there a red line in the game? I mean like a 'epic' story wich will lead me through the story of EVE?

Unlike most other MMOs, there is no "red line." The most epic stories in EVE are those created by the players themselves.

There is no story that you play through to save the galaxy or whatever. There is an extensive backstory about the setting and its history, though.

Eve is a sandbox, and isn't suited to every character playing through the same storyline like some other games.

That's not the point of EVE. The backstory is there to flesh things out a bit, but the real story is supposed to be created by us. It's a game based on PvP and player conflict, rather than PvE and a predefined set of quests and stories.

Create your own story in game. Whether its epic or mediocre is entirely up to your ability and luck.

DEICIDE - Chapter 1

She didn't like the name "assassin". It sounded so brutal, so cruel. She hated inflicting unnecessary pain or suffering, but causing death was unavoidable in her line of work.
She didn't like being called "mercenary" either. She wasn't doing it for the money, not only for that anyway... although big piles of cash never hurt.
She liked to call herself a "hunter" though. And the prey... the harder it was, the greater the thrill.
So, when she was asked to do this, she didn't hesitate a second, and didn't even wait to hear what bounty was offered, as she was sure it was more than enough to compensate for the trouble.
This would be her crowning acheivement, and probably her last job, one way or the other.

Afterall, it's not too often you are asked to kill a god.

Well, you wouldn't exactly name it killing actually, more like incapacitating, or better said, crippling, and only for a while.
Also, I guess you wouldn't call the target a god, but for what it's worth, a podpilot was as close to godhood as humanly and technologically possible.
Pod pilots... an elitist crowd, taking their nigh-immortality as granted on account of them surviving the trials of their transformation into living supercomputers, with bankrolls that would put the budgets of entire planets to shame, and unmatched fighting skills in their expensive flying machines, able to grind small armies into space dust in a matter of minutes... one of them was her quarry now... one that has managed to upset too many important (and wealthy) people way too fast for his own good.

How's that for a story ?

I guess you feel a bit battered by the same responses over and over saying that this is a sandbox game. Well, yeah, that's what it is in a fairly rare sci-fi genre too. People are proud of that and rightfully so.

The backdrop is there, there are also story arcs taking place (very slowly) and some great events taking place that slot you right in. Also rare!

The main emphasis is of course on you. You are the star of the show and it is up to you to invent your story. Do you want to be a major alliance leader? You could be, given time. A mover and shaker in industry? Of course. A pirate feared all over the galaxy? Possible but the competition is hot. A good lone ranger? Head of a wolf pack? Yes!

How cool is that? Very Happy

The only story in EvE that matters right now is the civil war that is Red vs Blue.

Read this and this if you don't know what I'm on about.

it's like you should take control of the destiny which is rightfully yours or something

me each time before i log on i sit back a little with an empty stare thinking at the above, seeing civilisations clashing, nerfed torpedos grinding, lasers burning and somewhere along the line someone sets off a DD then comes a scary silence that wakes me up, i sigh, i login...

then comes a dilema to choose the char, do i feel a woman or a man today, there are always mixed feelings about that and whatever i choose i'm not comfortable, the race options adds up to that uncertainty...

man, is not easy, i know what you are going thru, and there's no light, no hope, trapped inside, you know what i mean

The continuous story of EvE is happening without stop. It is not pre-written but instead a result of the actions of all the pilots in EvE.

You can be a part of it, the extent depends on you.
EvE is a society, you are part of it. Create something and you will be part of the story.

The players make it. BoB vs Goonswarm for example.
