Delisa turned the Rogue through 180 degrees and fired her afterburner; she quickly flew past the Gallente police who dared to try and stop her. Deactivating the burner and turning the Rogue through another 180 degrees she was on their tail before they knew what had happened. Letting rip with a volley of fire from her hybrid turrets the surprised police could do nothing to stop her. The first pursuant exploded in a burst of flame and debris. Delisa flew past the wreckage and activated her smartbomb as another volley barked from the turrets of her heavily modified Incursus. She watched as the second police ship started to align for warp, obviously going for reinforcements. Nobody was alerting Concord to her presence here. She warp scrambled the ship and opened up the guns once more. The ship was gone in seconds, as were the capsules of both ships. Satisfied that the threat was neutralised Delisa aligned the Rogue for warp and sped off into the distance for her rendezvous.

Delisa Nezat had been born as the youngest of three daughters to the wealthy Intaki business man Guinen Nezat. Guinen cared for his family immensely, teaching them the values of the Intaki. He also had all 3 trained to defend themselves. The universe is a dangerous place he would tell them when the complained. To Delisa it proved more dangerous than most. When she was only 16 she contracted a terrible disease known as Tyrakus Strain. The disease ravaged her beautiful young body, imprinting itself on her genetic structure and on her very brain. It slowly severed the connections between her physical and mental self. After 2 years she was completely incapable of communication with her family and of movement.

Guinen Nezat sent out a plea across the empires for anyone who could help his daughter. It was a Caldari scientist who answered his call with a simple theory about the use of Capsule technology. Although the disease had crippled her body he said, it had not damaged her brain. There was no reason why she should not be able to lead a fulfilling life as a space pilot. He brought along an Incursus class frigate for demonstration of his theory. Guinen was desperate for anything that would help his daughter so he agreed to the proposal.

Delisa was hooked up inside the pod and lowered into the frigate. The connection was made and suddenly Delisa felt whole again. She could ‘feel’ the ship around her; she could feel her own father, mother and sisters walking within her. She hunted around the trying different things, flexing her muscles so to speak. After a few minutes she found the intercom system.
“Hello.” Such a simple word, and yet that one word brought tears to the eyes of Guinen as he heard his beloved daughter talk again through the synthesized voice.

Delisa quickly became accustomed to her new ‘body’ and began trying to utilize it to the best of her capabilities. It was about a week after she entered the capsule when she headed out to one of the asteroid belts for a look. As she flew between the massive boulders a group of 5 Serpentis ships arrived on the scene. As the 2 Maulers began firing on her Delisa activated the warp and flew home. Damaged and in considerable pain Delisa limped back to the nearest station for repairs.

After that, Guinen insisted that Delisa be able to defend herself as well in her new body as she could in her old. He spared no expense on outfitting Delisa with the latest technologies and weapons systems. Delisa’s sister, Abswen, who was an engineering mastermind set to work on upgrading the small frigate’s power grid and CPU system. It wasn’t long before the small frigate had been heavily customised to be almost as powerful as a Vexor class cruiser. Capable of operating 3 turrets, an afterburner and a smartbomb as well electronic warfare equipment Delisa’s Incursus was incredibly well armed and with most of the cargo space forfeited in preference for improved agility and armour she was also incredibly manoeuvrable.

It was a month later as Delisa swept the asteroid fields around her home that she detected 5 ships in her vicinity. She instantly recognised them as the same signatures that had caused her such pain earlier. Firing up her afterburner Delisa homed in on her targets with incredible speed and began a rapid firing sequence as she wove between them and the asteroids. As she flew between the 2 Maulers that had done her so much damage before they both let rip with a volley of turret fire. Unfortunately their turrets couldn’t keep up with Delisa and their rounds slammed into each others hulls. Delisa turned round and mercilessly ruptured the small pods which floated outside the ships. She then turned her attention to the 3 remaining atrons. As she turned towards them they escaped into warp.

On her return to the station she thought of as home, Delisa contacted her eldest sister, Rittana, to tell her the news. She was greeted with the sound of her sister crying. She asked what was wrong and was told how her father had been arrested by the Federation for ‘criminal activities’. Delisa didn’t need to be told what these ‘criminal activities’ were. It was well know that Guinen had many enemies in business. Many of these were in or friendly with, the current administration of the Federation and had surely framed him.

Outraged Delisa had her sister tell her the details of her father’s arrest. She told how he was being moved to a penal station above a distant moon of the Federation. She found the details of the colony he was to be sent to and laid in a course. It wasn’t long before she was in the system ahead of the transport. She laid in wait around the opposite side of the planet for the ship to enter the system. As an afterthought she renamed her ship ‘Rogue’ for that’s what she would be soon.

Delisa picked up the signal of the prison ship entering the system and flew to the prison on an intercept. She dropped out of warp right on top of the ship and instantly began firing at its engines causing it to drop dead in space. She then launched two drones specially programmed by her sister. As Delisa began to destroy the escorts of the prison ship the drones cut away the section of the hull where her father was imprisoned in a stasis field and towed it to the Rogue. With the hull section in her hold, Delisa aligned for warp and disappeared back home. She wasted little time in picked up her sisters and fleeing for Syndicate territory.

With her family safe, Delisa set off on a private mission. She wanted revenge on the traitor who had criminalised her father and her family. Monitoring the subspace frequencies and following his movements she soon tracked him down to a small moon in Jel. She knew he was here to check on his employees mining the asteroid fields nearby. She set a course and warped to a nearby moon to lie in wait. It was there that she encountered two Gallente Police Tristans on patrol.

The two tristans instantly recognised her as a threat and began to open fire on her. Delisa turned her ship and sped away from them. As she expected, the two police frigates began to pursue and as they did they drew closer and closer together. As the closed together the trap was set.

Satisfied that the threat was neutralised Delisa aligned the Rogue for warp and sped off into the distance for her rendezvous.

As she appeared in the belt, she saw her enemy before her. He was there in an Exchequer class cruiser, with a small frigate escort. Delisa wasted no time; she weaved between the asteroids as she approached the fleet. As she rounded the top of the largest roid her target was in sight. She fired the Rogue’s guns at the two small atron frigates around her. With two guns firing on one with plutonium, and the other gun blasting the closest frigate with antimatter rounds as she let off the smartbomb at close range both were destroyed in just a few volleys. Delisa then turned her attention to the cruiser. It had been caught off guard and hadn’t managed to target her before its escort was gone. Delisa locked onto this massive target and flew over it at 50 meters. She was so close she felt she could almost touch it. With that in mind she set her smartbomb to auto-repeat and circled the cruiser keeping at a high speed and close range. 500m from her target she flew beneath its mass and fired all guns. 3 rounds of anti-matter slammed into its shield. 3 more rounds fired from the guns of the Rogue. 3 more rounds slammed into the cruiser. Delisa flew outwards from the cruiser and turned facing back down at it for a charge.

Igniting her afterburner again, Delisa flew past the hulk head on aiming her guns not at the cruiser itself but at the gun turrets mounted over its hull. Her aim was perfect and she blasted them from their mounts. Defenceless and incapable of running, Delisa destroyed what was left of the once proud ship. As round after round pounded into the ship Delisa felt the definition of herself and her ship begin to blur. Delisa was the ship, the ship was Delisa.

Delisa Nezat was Rogue.

I would love to hear any feedback you may have about this story as it is my first attempt at describing combat. All Evemails welcome.

Very well written, keep it up!

A little more description would be nice though, and maybe some more ajectives to help flesh out the description of combat.

Good stuff Very Happy
