The Fifth Tournament is fast approaching, and with is the coverage brought to you, as always, by the EVE TV team. Before we go on, I'd like to give them all a big wave, from the guys we started with in June 2006, all the way to the people we work with now - you're all varying degrees of awesome.

Anyway, enough of the self-indulgence. As part of the internet televisions event we put together, we need anything up to eight experts for me to chat to, Stevie to quiz, and the forums to shout at / write poems about. We've got some coming back from previous times, but mainly, we're getting a whole lot more. Sadly some can't return, and we're a little disappointed, and I daresay someone will shout about the choices that are made...but remember this. Before you get mean, be aware the signups are still open. If you can do better, we want you to come to Iceland ugh

So who's coming? Well we've got three confirmed 'vets' returning, and one more still undecided: Old-timer Stavros, Hat-tastic Verone, and Iceland's newest resident Eddz will be back on the couch sharing their opinions. With those three, as well as Loxyrider (our talented, if sadly male, director) I'll be sorting and processing applications for our new experts. The first step is already underway, with this blog. The second stage is also underway, and at some point soon we're going to be holding voice interviews to decide who gets to join us on your screens. I'll keep you up to date with how it goes.

A few interesting points before I go to bed.

We've had around seventy people apply this time. 22 of those are MC, 2 are BoB, 1 is AAA (Although a self-confessed pvp noob sadly), 2 are goons, and one in IAC. A lot of famous faces have applied too, which is really good to see, and we've had a good turnout from the roleplayers too (who I'm reliably informed are humans too). Finally, I'll leave you with this quote from one of the applications, which I really liked.

Quote:
You may be concerned about my age, but I assure you that I am a responsible person capable of acting very much like an adult, but will I also
act childish on request.

Really wish I could go out there, but health issues prevent me from applying.

Are those figures accurate? 22 MC.....as if it wasn't already MCTV before.

GL with the broadcast, we'll do our best to make it entertaining from the PvP front Smile

Day Two (well actually, day like, 12, but it's day two of me blogging this process...thing).

We've no got over a dozen people through to the second stage, and the voting that's going on is far better than anything you'd see on X-Factor. I wish this was televised too.

Many many apps still flooding in - this is by far the most we've ever had.

Some really impressive ones so far, some from people you'd expect, some from unknown sources. Some from roleplayers, some from pirates, and one from a carebear with little PVP experience, which we found a little puzzling. It continues

You should totally invite the carebear! Very Happy And then you lock him into a room with the other experts for the last 24 hours before the opening match, and force him to PvP them until he's learned! YARRRR!!

Downtime January 13th (= today) was the deadline, if the Dev blog is any indication.

Indeed, I just came here to say that if you haven't yet expressed an interest, it's too late. If you received a mail back from me, you still have ~2 days to get the app in.

Application Stage Two is now closed. We're done receiving emails. Special mention goes to Tony, who thought a late application was better than never (it's not. it's late, and therefore rubbish :( ) and to SUAS, who thought an application on MSN was a good idea while FC'ing drunk.

We're marking, and we'll be letting everyone who applied if they're through to interviews or not in the next couple of days. In the meanwhile, i'd recommend getting Ventrilo installed and getting a mic that works - not that any decent PVPers wouldn't have those already of course*.
